Per the spirit site, Saginaw extends it's radio broadcats on 100.5 fm for another 2 seasons. On top of that, Dennis Desrosiers will be rejoining Leigh in the booth.

I'm sure I'll be a party of one here, but I preferred Dom Pappa to Rosie. Pappa didn't wear rose colored glasses when it came to the Spirit (no pin intended) and I felt his game analysis was stronger. It was my impression that Dom did not plan to return this year though, because of the travel from Windsor and the time away from his business there.

SF8...while I don't disagree that Dom brought more to the broadcast, there's just something about Dennis and his connection to this town that makes a radio broadcast more palatable with him doing the color. I know Dennis on a personal level and I could take a week off of work and listen to him tell stories for 10hrs a day and it would be the best vacation of my life

Both do a great job. Dennis is a bit more supportive.

Not sure what it was. I guess I always got the impression he wanted to be the number one guy and not the side kick. Dennis is more than happy to be the side kick. For the record, I don't have a problem with the side kick being a bit of a homer. In fact, I prefer it that way. The play by play guy should call it straight which frees up the side kick to "tell it like it is" from a Spirit perspective. Good luck to Dom, but I for one, won't miss him.

I will miss Dom. He knows what is happening in the league, the teams in the league and the players in the league. as does Leigh. Dennis does not know this, he knows he does not know it and really does not care that he does not know it. Dom was honest and told it like he saw it. I realize that alone would make some on this board uncomfortable. Dom added real value to the broadcast. With Dennis and Leigh, I can get as much insight on the game from looking at the OHL Game Recap.

It's a bit easier for me since I already know more about the league than he did, but I sure can understand how you would find that aspect helpful. (before you go all nuts, remember it's still the off season and I'm just having some fun!)

I totally agree that Rosie tells great stories and I could listen to them for a long time, but that's not why I listen to the games. As IGive1 said, I liked hearing the insight into other teams around the OHL. And while I don't mind announcers being homers (I'm a big Dickerson/Price fan), Leigh has that covered enough for two people!

Not sure what it is but just prefer Dennis. Perhaps it's just the history but he's a perfect fit. I really like Leigh over Ficorelli, too.
