First off, the ticket books this year are GREAT! It's actually a ring-bound book of individual tickets and I won't rip them to shreds when I remove them.
Second, Jimmy Lodge is mysteriously absent on the tickets. You've got Holmes and Orban on the tickets and no Jimmy Lodge. Even though he may bring more value in a trade, I'm hoping he sticks around because he's my son's favorite player. The only reason he's his favorite player is because he saw him on a ticket last year and that's all it took. So, I've got an erie (sic) feeling that he's going to be headed out of town in what our house refers to as Ticket-Gate so we can be like the media who add's "gate" to everything.

I'm going to focus this post elsewhere but will get back to Lodge.
I've noticed on other boards that there is some speculation that the Erie Otters might consider trading Connor McDavid. But I would be surprised if any team has the assets necessary to give the Otters in return what they would demand for McDavid. For example, if Saginaw were to inquire about the availability of McDavid, I'm sure the Otters would demand Stephens and Felhaber plus other assets. So, since McDavid is perhaps the best player in the league and Erie has him for this year and probably not beyond, wouldn't it be prudent for the Otters to try to acquire some wingers to play with him?
If I'm Jim Paliafito, I place a call to Sherry Bassin and make the following offer: Saginaw will trade Jimmy Lodge, Nick Moutrey, Sean Callaghan, and draft picks to Erie for Dylan Strome. Erie gets wingers for McDavid and an OA defenseman to help solidify their D corps. Saginaw gets another young player to put in the stable. I wouldn't even ask for conditional draft picks just in case Lodge or Moutrey return for OA seasons.
I'm not saying Erie would do it but I think they would have to think long and hard about it.

Is Dylan Strome that good? I would imagine we'd need a bunch of picks coming back our way too. 2 NHL drafted players and a solid defenseman/toughguy for just one player?

Definitely agree Jimmy is solidly on the block. He doesn't seem like the type of forward Gilbert wants.
The blockbuster Erie theory would be good for us but I see McDavid getting traded much like Tavares was before we get Strome.
For me a good deal would be If Guelph is leading their division and they think they can contend again this year, maybe move Jimmy to the Storm for Adam Craievich and picks.

Agree 100% with the TicketGate theory re Lodge's status in Saginaw; first thing I noticed with this year's book. Can't agree on the ring binders, though. Cheap. Much preferred the larger tickets
