I think the Spirit need to go 3-0 over the next three games to have any chance of making the playoffs and it will eliminate the Whalers. Windsor has Erie twice and SSM once mixed in with above average Guelph and Niagara. I don't see us beating London or Kitchener unless Jake sits in the final game which I don't see happening.
I know we promised Jake a trade but I think if we kept him we would have clinched a spot by now.

Playoff schedule is out. First two games are in the Soo. Friday March 27 & Saturday the 28th. (got my tickets for this one this morning) Saginaw's home games are Tuesday and Thursday. If by some miracle the Spirit force a game 6 it will be on Sunday April 5th (Easter Sunday) at 4:00 PM

Here's hoping the Spirit manage to force a game six, so BP and I are on bunny moving patrol again. For those who do not know what bunny moving patrol is, it is when 2 guys show up at the Saginaw County Courthouse, gank the Saginaw Spirit Bunny from the lawn, and move it to the main entrance of the Dow Event Center. And for those who do not know, the Spirit Bunny holds an old John McFarland stick.

I would assume a oddsmaker would set the over/under for wins at .5
What's a realistic good outcome in this series...an overtime loss or two to say we kept it close for a couple games. It's going to take a really awful/lazy effort from the Soo and some stellar goaltending just to see us get in the win column. Oh well, future is bright and at least we're getting a couple playoff games when 2 weeks ago it looked like we were on the downslide to the basement. A #5/6 pick next year with Felhaber, Sadowy, Stephens, Middleton, etc. and we'll have home ice for at least Round 1 and two years for now we'll be playing in the memorial cup...yup, if we're going to do it, that's the year. We'll have everyone except Sadowy and if we've got the goaltending (Cormier?) we'll win it all.

The only playoff memory I have of Easter is that game against London where the Knights tied the game with a second to go and won in OT, despite a tremendous performance from Paterson. Was there a better game I am forgetting?
Just for the record, I heard a stat the other day that threw a little bit of a damper (or maybe just inserted some realism) on next year: the top three scorers in the OHL this year are 17 years old. Never happened before. To be sure, Connor McDavid won't be back (he finished third, but keep in mind he missed 6 weeks of the season). Dylan Strome is probably 50-50 for next year. Mitch Marner is likely to be lighting it up for London for the next two seasons.

Spirit better lock up the series in less than 7 games, because I will be at the Red Wings game on Easter!

Ah, yes. Reading the posts on that thread make it so clear that London's classiness didn't spring from nowhere this season. (ie playing your top PP unit in the third period when you are up by 8 goals...) IIRC, no fines or suspensions came out of any of those incidents. Typical.
