Good grief!!!! I just looked at the game summary for the first period.....that's a whole game in 20 minutes!!! Please keep it up as we play the Knights tomorrow afternoon!! A tough physical game, a bus trip and short turnaround time would (hopefully) give a rested but very short-handed Hounds team equal footing!

About the only thing we can offer is that London will be tired out from all of the high-fives

Everything unraveled after the BS penalty on Sadoway and 5 minute major slew foot on Felhaber. Was the slew foot a legit call? Hard to see down in that corner from lower level 18 where I sit. Gotta love Hunter playing his top power play unit with the huge lead and quite obvious the game was out of hand score wise.

We need to make the playoffs so we can see two more home games of THAT?
I thought the call on Felhaber was legit. Ref was right on it. He put his skate behind the London player and then raise his stick and pulled him back. If he gets suspended for the two Plymouth games, good luck.
London did use their first power play unit ahead 11-3. They have a game tomorrow afternoon at the Soo (on NHL network). Gilbert should have called timeout in the last minute just to delay London's trip a bit.
Murdaca is in the playoffs. His team is down 2-1 in the series. If they get eliminated perhaps they can call him up? Be great if he could get a couple games in this year. Spirit goalies.... One is awful and the other is only slightly better.

Brown has his 10th fight. He'll be suspended following the next one.

I think we'd be better off pulling the goalie and playing with the extra man. Cormier let in three goals in three shots. Come on.
I hate London. Why don't you see many 12-3 games? Because most teams aren't still playing their top lines when they're up by five goals.
We had a row of London fans behind us that forced us to move because they were so obnoxious.
Henley probably should keep his gloves on in the future.

Domi played the entire 2 minutes of the power play in the 3rd when London was up by 8. Maybe he was making up for the fact that he spent over 1/6 of the game in the penalty box. It seemed like more.
Marner had a 6 point night but I don't even remember seeing him on the ice at all during the whole game. I can't think of a better example of someone quietly doing anything. I guess he is a contrast to his loud and conspicuous teammates.
Henley, who I guess could be considered our 7th defenseman (only 11 forwards dressed, why was Bennett out?), took one of their better players off the ice for 7 minutes. That is a good trade, no matter how he fought. Not that it mattered.
This team is running out of gas. Many of these guys (especially the goalies) have never played a season this long before. They are still learning how. I would bring up Murdaca once the Canucks season is over and let him get at least one start.

I'll echo Stu's comment about the young guys hitting the wall since most of them haven't played this many games against high level competition before. These guys are the little fish in the big pond now. Also heard a lot of the guys have been dealing with the flu lately including Sadowy who wasn't even eating solid for a few days. Not a great excuse but that and some of the teams we've been playing lately equates to not a whole lot of success.
A game like that is hard to watch but it doesn't hurt our playoff chances. I still think the four games against Plymouth will decide if we make it or not.

All the London whiners will come out of the woodwork but how soon they will have forgotten. Karma is a b*tch isn't it!

I still think the four games against Plymouth will decide if we make it or not. You had to know what the Spirit were in for going in didn't you? The reality is this game most likely did more good for the team than it did harm. You are right, it's all about the Plymouth games. How many times over the years has it come down to the Plymouth games? If Saginaw loses to Plymouth in regulation on Tuesday there will be a three way tie for the last playoff spot. Now if that doesn't get you excited I suggest you find a new sport to follow. In reality, the Spirit are playing to keep the playoff streak alive. All three teams are playing to get a couple extra games in the Playoffs. Let's face it, the West at the top is loaded. The chances of Saginaw, Plymouth or Windsor making it out of the first round is pretty remote. These young guys will get their chance at revenge with the Knights. Let's just hope they never forget.

THANKS, SAGINAW SPIRIT!!!! Despite having 6 players out (including 4 top ones) and only having 15 skaters, the Hounds beat the Knights today 8-3. I really didn't expect this dominant a performance and I think it has finally home what depth we have. But I still don't think it would have looked quite so dominant if not for your game with them last night.
Here's hoping you get to watch your own home team, the Spirit return to being a contender in the not too distant future! Our rivalry is still my favourite! May you draft well, find some free agent gems, trade for the missing pieces and get coaching that maximizes the players' performance!

Glad the Hounds put it to them today, Malarkey. We do need three of those things--I think we have pretty decent coaching. I just hope I live long enough to see the Spirit payback that d-bag Hunter someday.
Last night was awful--but let's face it. Once we traded everybody, this is what was coming. The best thing that can come out of last night is that the Spirit don't forget about it. (Re: Feldhaber--I believe a match penalty is automatic for at least one game, which is probably all he'll get)
Considering our performances against Plymouth this season, I don't find it reassuring that our games against them will decide our fate. At this point, I wouldn't be upset about just getting a higher draft pick. I fail to see what good it will do the Spirit to be swept--badly--in Round 1: I don't buy that type of playoff experience being any help in the future. But it is what it is, or will be.

For those of you who alluded to the Knights classy behaviour last night? Guess what??!! They were just as classy today!!! Some fans with small children who sat in the vicinity of the Knights bench had to leave because the Knights not only were chirping the Hounds bench and players going by with foul language....they were chirping the fans with the same language....didn't matter to them (or their coaches) that there were small children around. When Matt Rupert was going off after getting his 5 and a game for checking from behind (I think he will see more than a few games off for it) he was showboating and waving his arms around.......as did Yak in the third when he and a Soo player got 10 min. for unsportsmanlike. We KNOW Hunter won't do anything.....as I said on another forum, I can only imagine what Keefe would do to our players if they pulled all this crap.......he didn't hesitate to send Bailey and Moore to the dressing room in one game after they served their minor but untimely penalties.
