We'll be up there for all 4 games, Malarkey. That is, unless we eliminate the Hounds in less than 7. . We know where you sit, so we'll stop by and say Hi. We're in Sec. 120, Row F, just to your right. BTW, we expect 75 degree temps, so I can get in a round of golf on Saturday afternoon. John

John I love you sense of humour.....even if you got your 75 degree temps , you would have to play on snow!!! Although it is slowly going away, it is taking its time (which is a good thing, otherwise we would probably have some flooding)....the sun is warm but the air and wind are chilly so winter jackets (and hats at times) are still the order of the day! Will look forward to you dropping over to 103!! See you Friday. Safe travels!! Karen

I won't even be able to make it to all the games in Saginaw, due to work schedule. So johnt and any other Spirit attendees will have to hold down the fort for me. Here's to a good series...hopefully.

There should be a law against work getting in the way of hockey. Somebody should do something about that. As for me I have a date with Stu's mom in the Soo Saturday night. We will be sitting in the corner on the glass in Section 111. (for those who might be wondering, Stu will be there too!)

The party is on in front of the Essar before both the Fri. and Sat. game so come early and enjoy the party! We will be picking Stu up in Clare around noon. We should be there in plenty of time. We are booked at the Holiday Inn Express so I don't see how we could avoid the party even if we wanted to. You guys should be excited about the year you have had. To be quite honest, I'm pretty proud of our guys too. Becoming the youngest team every in the OHL to secure a playoff spot is quite an accomplishment. They hit the wall and lost their lead for the 8th spot and could very well have just laid down, but they didn't. They had their fate in their own hands and they finished strong to take that last spot. Going up against a team like the Soo can only help these guys going forward. I don't expect the Spirit to beat the Soo, but it would be a big mistake for the Greyhounds to look past them. Should be fun.

I promise we will be nice to you!! Hope to see some Spirit jerseys in the crowd!! We are coming up as soon as I get out of work on Fri, so my question is how are they rerouting traffic on Bay St we have to get past the arena for our accommodations and we would like to check in before the game if time allows. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Malarkey said that the party will be in front of Essar, which is on Queen St. Bay St. will probably be open. If not, you could go behind Station Mall (near the river) and come back to Bay street beyond the party area (Elgin street?).

That's cool that he lets you date his mom although it seems a little awkward that he'll be there with you. For the record you can not date my mom.

bpfox, us Hounds fans know that taking any OHL team lightly is risky.....especially in the playoffs. And a young team has nothing to lose because there are no big expectations....so they can just go out there and have as much fun as possible and see how they can throw the other team off their game. I can tell you that any Soo fan who says they knew at the start of the season that the Hounds were going to do what they have done is lying. We thought they had a real good shot winning their division, might contend for tops in the conference but to finish the regular season atop thenOHL??? Especially all those injuries we had through Feb., first part of March. Keefe is drilling it into them that the regular season is over and means nada in the playoffs.
We've been through the young team scenario more than once....the difference this time is we have a coach who could teach and motivate so that the NEXT season they weren't at still playing like a young team. Hope you guys have that too.

Hopefully we do, malarkey. Gilbert has just been announced as a finalist for the OHL Coach of the Year. This is the third time he has been nominated. Since he has only been coaching for 3 years, this is a pretty decent track record, and he actually won it the first year. We've seen in the past that he does well with young teams, and it will be interesting to see over the next couple of years how he does with an older team that has higher expectations.
