Not about the current Spirit team, but thought everyone would like to know that Jose suffered a stoke a couple of weeks ago. He is having trouble walking, but starting rehab this coming week. For those interested in sending Jose a get well card, his address is: 19370 Northridge Drive, Apt. G, Northville, MI 48167. Jose was the Equipment Manager for the Spirit for many years. I'm sure many of you remember him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jose and his family. His name is embroidered inside my red Mursak 5th Anniversary game worn jersey.

Jose is one of those really cool guys I've met because of the team being here. He was my primary co-conspirator in the production of my Saginaw Spirit Disco Stu red jersey. He sent it out to be done along with the guys from the team that we traded for in mid-season 2004-05 (Jeff Weber, Michal Birner, Stephen Whitely, Tom Mannino, Joe McCann).
He was a team equipment manager at many levels for over 1000 games in the minors and junior and he even had a special presentation from the Spirit for his 1000th game. The idea for that came when I gave him a button for one of my anniversary games, either 100 or 150 I think.
Anyway, this is really horrible news and I wish him well. Is someone getting a card to pass around at the game tonight?

In my (short) lifetime, I've worked for a lot of different people, and I will tell you without a doubt, I have never learned more from anyone than Jose.
Besides the many stories he has (and there are many), his work ethic was unlike anything I've ever seen. I'm telling you, this is a guy who knew what he was doing and it reflected around those he worked with. I'm sure it's going to be a long battle for him, but this guy is as tough as they come, and I know he will give it everything he has.
Sending well wishes your way Jose!

Jose will be attending the Spirit game this coming Sunday against the Colts. He will be in the Blue Line Club and sitting in Section 17, Lower Bowl, in a top row.
If you remember Hose from his days with the Spirit, please stop by and say HI.

Jose's visit scheduled for this Sunday has been postponed due to an unforeseen event (nothing bad). A new date will be determined early next week.

I want to thank John Thompson and his wife, Randy Miller and his wife and all the fans that came by last. I enjoyed the game, even though we didn't play well. It brought back a lot of memories. I was surprised with the Scoreboard announcement. Thank you all.
