Well, with a few days off and a long bus ride, hopefully the coaches have done some research and put some thought into the lines. It has been frustrating seeing different lines not only game after game, but period after period.

Ok, I cannot be positive, this is horrible to watch!
How is Barwell (20 points and -16) and Hodgson (17 points and 0) on the first line! We have a Team Canada, Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick playing behind these guys. I am really truly a fan of both, but not on the first line.
I'm convinced Drinkell is involved. Gilbert has not been this bad at making lines ever before this season.

It's to the point where I don't even have wild guesses about what's going on.

I hear ya!! It is out of control.
It was nice to see Coskey back in the lineup, Id like to see him with first line minutes. He is our future and we need him ready for next year, give him ice! And Gilmour played first line for a few games, point every game, dropped to fourth line. Im thinking Gilbert doesn't like rookies! Brown and Bennett getting chemistry as they have played together a few games in a row, then they are separated. There is no way in the world that Barwell should have first line minutes over everyone else. Kreis was lighting it up for a while, then he is moved to a different line! Felhaber has been consistent with third line, move him up and see if he produces.
Very frustrating to say the least.

Ok...I'll bite, what is your fascination with Coskey? Do I think he's a good prospect, sure...do I think he should get "first line minutes", you're out of your mind. He's +/- the 10th best forward on the team currently. Best case he's 7-9 which means 3rd line minutes at best, NOT first line minutes.
Also, you're complaining about the line combinations changing all the time but you're calling for Coskey to get more time. The only way to get him more time is to juggle the lineup again...it's a vicious circle and I'm sure Gilbert would love to leave the lines alone but none of them are working. If he kept the lines consistent and we were losing everyone would be clammering for him to switch guys around.
Our top line should be Hodgson-Stephens-Artemov but you just can't play Artemov and Stephens together because Artemov can be a black hole with the puck and Stephens will get frustrated. Here's how I would arrange the lines:
Hodgson-Stephens-Barwell Davies-Bennett-Kries Clarke-Felhaber-Brown Artemov-Gilmour-Coskey/Maksimov

It does not matter who is on the first or second or third lines. They all get about the same amount of playing time. It is not like basketball where there is a starting 5 who play most of the game. Gilbert may want to match up line with what he feels are better defensively to a more offensive line on the opposition. And no, Drinkall is not making the line combinations for Gilbert.

I may go down to the Flint game tomorrow to see the team that could possibly push us out of the playoffs. Plus it's Flint Tropics night & they will have the awesome (?!) Tropics jerseys on. And they play Owen Sound, who are sitting in the spot ahead of the Spirit, so I am torn as to who I want to win that one - Flint win would be great if we think the Spirit can ever win a game again & try & push for the 7 spot, or do I go with Owen Sound to win to keep Flint from getting points, making it more difficult for them to catch us? Hmm...

Regarding the line combinations, maybe it's time to do what Blashill just did in Detroit & ask the players who they want to play with for a game or two, who each player feels they have the best chemistry with. It certainly can't HURT!!!
