I just can't believe these numbers. Most of the games that I have been to it looks as if the lower bowl would not even be full.
I know that the numbers are tickets sold but I'm wondering just how many of these sold tickets are not showing up at the games.
I would hope that the numbers begin to go up when the football season ends.

I know that the numbers are tickets sold but I'm wondering just how many of these sold tickets are not showing up at the games. Well 2 of those tickets sold for every game are mine. I bought season tickets again this season even though I moved to China. I donated them to the Spirit foundation for them to give away. I know one game where my tix were still available and my older son was in Midland from Indy (where he goes to school) and he used my 2 seats.

Regardless of tickets sold, the number of actual people in the arena is noticeably low this year. And we can't blame it on the play, because of the home games I've been to this year (only missed a couple), I've only seen them lose twice. They aren't playing as strong as last year, but they are still playing well.
One thing I HAVE noticed though, is that despite the smaller crowds, we are LOUD this year. The team gets applause every time they clear the puck on the penalty kill, every time we have a good chance at a goal and every time we make a good save.
And they all stand and cheer when we score. I think in my opinion the crowd is the best its been in years, despite being small.

I'm hoping we'll have a great crowd next home game against Plymouth. Games against the Whalers always draw well and plus Jiri Fischer will be there.
I was talking to some London fans at last Saturday's game and they said that our building is louder than the JLC, even though they constantly play in front of 9000 people every night. They say a majority of the people there just show up to get drunk and we have louder fans. Guess we have one thing going for us lol.

SSF- Just thought you would like to know that on most nights, your seats are being used. I have on several occasions used your "third" seat. It works out good for me since seat 9 is right behind my seat.
Section 18 on most nights is not full even though you can't buy any seats there. I think the numbers being down has as much to do with the economy as it does anything else. Die hard fans will choose to spend their reduced resources on hockey. Many will not. The lines at the concessions are shorter also, but that may have more to do with the price increases than anything else. I doubt Saginaw will ever be a "hard ticket to get" such as the Soo or London, but they are doing much better than previous occupants of the event center and that's a good thing.

He had 3 people with him so he ended up sitting elsewhere. He used my 2 tix plus 2 more that Lisa Bluew kindly gave him to gain admittance to the game.

Will the ticket office tell you who has the seats next to yours? I tried to get the two seats next to ours for this Saturdays game. Adam said they were season ticket holders. I couldn't believe it because no one is ever sitting in them. If they would tell me who owned them maybe they would sell them to me for certain games. Adam said just buy two tickets and if no one is sitting in them just use them. (good idea I guess)

This weekend may not be the best weekend to try that. With the kids off from school and the Spririt on a roll. Not to mention it's Plymouth.

SSF, Lisa is no longer with the Spirit. Lindsey MacDougal is now the person to talk to about this.
