Believe it or not, we're 2 months into the season and this is the first meeting between the Michigan rivals. Saginaw, fresh off a big win over Kitchener at The Aud, comes into this game with a record of 9-9-2-1 and 21 points, good for 5th in the Western Division and 7th in the Western Conference. Plymouth is currently 13-7-1-1 and 28 points, good for 3rd in the Western Division and 5th in the Western Conference. Game time is 7:05 tonight.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Drive safely and GO SPIRIT!

it shows how good the division is when we're .500 and in last. Also, plymouth has twice as many wins as losses and is only in 3rd.
Looking at last years results...Owen Sound was the 8th seed and was 1 game over .500 (31-30-3-4). In the eastern conference, the same record got you the 5th seed!!! Sounds like this years AFC vs. NFC
Was going to make the trip down for this one but I'd rather head out to the biggest bar night of the year. I'd anticipate some fights for the first meeting between these two, setting the tone for the rest of the season series

Game now underway...the Spirit easily kill off 2 early penalties. Chris Breen has returned to the lineup tonight after missing several games with an "upper body injury."

2-0 Plymouth after 2 periods
Shots are 35-14 in favor of Saginaw, so it's not from lack of effort I guess.
0/6 on the powerplay doesn't look too good either.

Goaltending and special teams are the difference so far. I see Combs was stopped on a penalty shot in the 2nd period. That's 2 penalty shots awarded in 1 game......what's going on??

Saginaw had a 5 on 3 for 1:39 and pretty much did everything but score. Guess it's not our night tonight.

Going 1 for 9 on the PP and allowing 4 goals on only 25 shots just isn't going to cut it. It's easy to start talking about trading Daniels but who would even be interested given how inconsistent he has been. Even if you trade him you won't get much in return.

Szwarz took the guy down and pummeled him for a good 10 seconds. I hate to say but that was Saginaw's only good play of the night.
