I agree that the d-men do make some mistakes but the forwards need to do a better job in our own end as well.
I think the young d-men have made mistakes but overall have played well for thier age.

Saginaw is 4th in the league out of 20 teams for allowing the LEAST AMOUNT of shots with only 30.5 allowed/game! Only Kitchener (1st place), Soo (2nd place) and Guelph are ahead of Saginaw! For a team with one of the youngest defense in the league I'd say that's an amazing number. On the flip, side, Saginaw's save percentage is 19th out of 20 teams - 87.8%. I'd say defensive play is the least of Spirit's worries. I think the 3 main factors of the year so far: 1.) 3 of 6 defenseman are 17 years old in a league designed for 18 & 19 year olds. Brodie is struggling so far. 2.) Murzak playing below expectations 3.) Continued problems on PK, which is baffling.

Shanghai you make it sound so simple!!!!! With your knowledge gained from youth hockey and your simplistic approach to the game. Makes it easier to understand. Hopefully your in China long enough to get the Chinese Hockey Team to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

In terms of making things simple, that's what you have to do to be successful with young kids, right?? But some of this simple stuff actually works with the older kids too. Hopefully your in China long enough to get the Chinese Hockey Team to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. I doubt it!! You still have to be able to skate to play this game well. I think the Chinese have a ways to go in that department.

I think that Sinfield is a consistent player so I'm not sure why Igive1 called him out on one mistake by belittling him. However, Plymouth's defense wasn't all that great, it was Jeremy Smith to the rescue, which is why he got the first star. Same thing happens when Gajewski is in net, saves the day every time. When it comes down to a good team that produces wins consistently, it's the goalie. If anything there is no reason why only one shot last night went in on 49. Maybe we need to look at the offense as well since we always usually beat the opponent with shots on goals but lose.

If our goalies got shots given to them like jeremy smith so generously like on wednesday night, they would probably have a .920 save percentage to. We did not have 49 shots. We probably had 39, the other 10 being from whacking at it twice when he had it covered already. Not saying we shouldnt of scored more then once even on 39 shots, but still, next game in saginaw watch the clock for the Spirit goalies, its embarressing.

hahaha, i've been out of town for a few days and reading the board now that i'm back and i see that everyone thinks that our problems are that the "shot counter" is counting by two's, hahaha, priceless. ;D ;D ;D

Got to be laughing...
1. The spirit give up the least amount of shots, cause the goalies let them in first shot no rebounds.....actually they take fewer PIMs than most teams and do an adequate job of clearing pucks out.
2. Daniels and Van Buskirk have been worse than average, with save percentage that rank 25 and 26th in a 20 team league...for 1988 goalies, especially Daniels - that is embarrassing.
3. The reason most teams are beating the Spirit, is plain and simple - their goalie is better.
4. Why the Spirit haven't traded Daniels by now is beyond me....since day one it was clear HE COULD NOT BE THE STARTING GOALIE especially on a rebuild team. Why would they have a 1988 as a starter and a 1988 as a back up. This is assinine.
5. Seems to me that the Spirit would have three more wins at least if the goaltending was AVERAGE.
