The Spirit conclude the weekend with 2 straight games against the Guelph Storm, starting tonight in Guelph. Saginaw comes into tonight's contest 11-12-3-1, good for 26 points, 5th in the West Division and 7th in the Western Conference. The Storm are currently 8-14-4-2, good for 22 points, 4th in the Midwest Division and 9th in the Western Conference.
Guelph is 0-6-2-2 in their last 10 games, which scares me because they're hungry for a victory. They have not won since November 4, when they whooped London at the JLC 8-2...since then it has been all downhill for them.

Missed the 1st period of the game... I see that Sloan Stewart is in the lineup for Saginaw. According to the Spirit website he was a 14th Rd. pick this year & is from Guelph... so I am guessing he is in the game tonight & that's it?
Just before people ask... no, he is NOT the new goon in town.

Just like last night we are tied heading into the 3rd period, 1-1. Ryan McDonough gave the Spirit at 1-0 lead in the first, and Brandon Buck has tied it for Guelph with a powerplay goal.

We have to stop taking so many penalties. Some penalties are OK like when you are trying to prevent a scoring chance or sending a message to someone but the penalties that we are taking are the tripping/hooking penalties below the opposition goal line that are coming back to haunt us. There was one in the Oshawa game that resulted in a goal and 2 in the Guelph game that resulted in goals.
Great to see Ryan Daniels has stepped up to play very well the last 4 games. If it were not for him both of the last 2 games would have ended worse than they did.
