How many time do we have to read things in the Saginaw News that are not accurate? I guess as long as Mark "I just don't get it" Constantine is the reporter. Perhaps I am splitting hairs here but Owen Sound did not "leap frog" Saginaw into 7th place last night. Mr. Constatine seems to think because Saginaw and Owen Sound have the same number of points and Owen Sound has more wins, that puts Owen Sound ahead of the Spirit in the Standings. Not So. Yes, I know that "number of wins" is the first tie breaker, but the problem is Saginaw is not tied with Owen Sound since the Spirit have not played the same number of games as the Attack. When in the middle of the season and teams have not played the same number of games, winning percentage is what matters when it comes to the standings. By virtue of it's higher winning percentage, Saginaw is still in 7th place in the Western Conference.
Just thought you might like to know.

BTW... you are right - why does the Snews not find another hockey writer? It has been this way as long as I can remember.

Thanks GensFan, I was just blowing off steam. I don't know why it is that he just wants to make bad news sound worse or something. Nobody is happy about losing. That said, the team is still performing at a rate better than most predicted. It's a bit frustrating when the team can knock off a very good team like Kitchener, but when they need a win against a team they are locked in a playoff spot battle with, they can't pull it off. To be honest, they haven't had that many bad games this season. They are still fun to watch, and that's what I want for my entertainment dollar. You can use the facts to sound negative or positive. I just get frustrated when the sports writer always seems to go negative. The truth of the matter is there are three teams fighting right now for two playoff spots and the Spirit are still on top of the other two in spite of this mini losing streak they are on. Guelph has to play a game tonight while we rest. Hopefully that will make the difference tomorrow. Owen Sound has a tough game tonight as well. I'm looking for the Spirit to improve their position even further before the weekend is out.
End of rant. Thanks for listening. Peace!

Could be worse...we could have Brendan Savage who covers the Flint Generals, who thinks that playing 15 games against every other team in the IHL is the greatest thing ever. Just my opinion.
