just a quick note...Pasquale looked GREAT in goal last night...very quick moving, saw the puck in traffic, I was VERY impressed for a 17 year old. It's the yellow pads. When I saw those pads, I knew we had a good goaltender!

Also wanted to comment on the above post about the attendance being so good for a Thursday game. One of the groups supplied about 1,000 of those people, they announced it during intermission. Still seats sold and butts in seats, but that was what accounted for it. I can't remember the group. The group was the Frankenmuth Credit Union

Shanghai--When the lineups were announced before the game, the announcer said, ...and add # (whatever), Justin Garay, goalie for the Otters. We all heard it and looked at each other, because he has been playing in the ECHL this season. I thought he was older than 20, but obviously he is not. [/quote]
Garay started the season with Erie, was released, and hooked up with the Jamestown Vikings of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (basically a semi-pro league in Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and upstate New York). Jamestown, NY is very close to Erie. He played in 6 games and was waived thru the league when the Vikings acquired a "better" goalie. I was also surprised to see he had been "rehired" by the Otters.

Holmes is moving to Houston, so Saturday's game will probably be the only one he does w/ Fic. Warren played for the Houston Apollos back in 1984. I'm not sure if still has any connections there or not. I actually went to one of their practices where several former Gears players were on the roster. The Apollos were the top farm team of the LA Kings, and the Gears were their "AA" affiliate. The Apollos folded half way through the season due to poor attendance. LA sent most of the players back to Saginaw, including Warren, where the Gears went on to win the Turner Cup. The rest of the IHL wasn't too happy since the the Gears were loaded with players who belongs in a higher league.
