With all of the "unrest" in London right now due to the impending Steve Mason trade, the Knights should be ripe for another Spirit Butt Whoopin'. I'm not much for predictions but I think this will be another lopsided win for Saginaw just like the last game prior to the holiday break. A regulation win for Saginaw means they also clinch the season series against the Knights which would be a "1st" since the franchise moved to Saginaw. Saginaw would have 5 points (2 wins and an OT loss) and London will only have 2 points (an OT win) with only 1 game to play in London.
GO SPIRIT!!!!

Usually the London fans would have a full page on their GDT by now. There isn't even a thread yet.Excellent. Let us hope that the players are equally as distracted. Open up a can on 'em tonight, Spirit.

Open up a can on 'em tonight, Spirit. The lack of a game day thread has been pretty consistant when Saginaw is involved. Not sure why, but it seems to be the case this year for some reason. On a side note; SSF you might be interested in the fact that the NOOF's number one poster, none other than London's own OTTO will be my guest tonight, along with Mrs Otto in lower 18. It's too bad the time has run out on our bets with the London faithfull because you and I could have both collected steak dinners on the last game. Let's hope for a repeat tonight. Peace.

Hopefully Otto has absolutely nothing to cheer about tonight. With the exception of Mason's win over the US this afternoon. And even that would be a mixed blessing!

Looks like London has their new guys in the lineup tonight, or at least Jason Guy, who is starting in net for the Knights tonight. Pasquale is in net for the Spirit.

End of the 1st period...London 3, Saginaw 0
Well, we might have gotten ahead of ourselves a bit. Special teams was the obvious difference in this period. Shots are 15-13 Saginaw.

End of the 2nd period...London 4, Saginaw 1
I swear, London was on the powerplay the entire 2nd half of the period. Or at least that's what it seemed like. Saginaw had a disallowed goal late in the period as well.
Shots are 31-26 Saginaw.

That's the game...London wins it 5-2 and stops Saginaw's 6 game winning streak. Patrick Maroon scored an empty net goal to complete his hat trick. The Spirit appeared to make it 4-3 late in the period, but I believe the referee lost sight of the puck and blew the whistle. Sounds like we should have started Daniels tonight...he seemed to be on his A-game when he took over for Pasquale. Hopefully that carries over to tomorrow's game.
