Tonight's attendance: 2718 ...lowest in history? Could be wrong...I don't recall many games where we were below 3000.

4-2 Plymouth now.
Ans another thing... Joe McCann... this guy does not get a TON of points, but my Lord, he seems to rack up a ton against Saginaw! 2 more assists tonight for him! Jeez!

Just as it did against London, it looks like another slow 1st period start is going to cost Saginaw. It's 4-2 Plymouth with 3 minutes to go. Saginaw is 0 for 5 on the power play.

It doesn't look like that many people from what they have shown on the OHL Livestream. Looks like a weak turnout. If the Spirit were smart they would never schedule another Wednesday night home game. Even though the announced attendance is about 2700 I'll bet there are no more than 2000 in attendance. |

Where was everybody? Crowd was as dead as the Spirit in the first period. Disco Stu got more Jumbotron time tonight than the Spirit highlites. The team is on TV for Friday nights game. Hopefully they show up early.

WOW! What a fight between Breen & Sladok!!! Breen handled himself WELL against the leage's leading PIM guy! Both landed some good shots! Draw. OH MY LORD! Now Allicock destroys whoever the heck that poor sap was... Mahalak. That first shot right from the get go from Allicock & the next two stunned the dude! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT - WIN for Allicock. Exactly correct, SGF. Sladok got some shots in early on Breen, but Breen hung in and the tide turned as the fight went on (a LONG one!)Large ovation from the "crowd" for Breen--a terrific showing against the Most Penalized Man in the OHL..... And Allicock!! Holy Mother of Pearl!! 3 rapid jack-hammer punches and the Whaler was down. He gave it a try to continue, but getting up was proving a little tough for him. TKO. Great deke on the penalty shot by Combs. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the positive news on the game. What a pitiful performance. Todd Watson had this to say in the BLC tonight: "In games where we get off to a slow start, it's going to be a long night. And if we aren't hitting people--a LOT--we aren't going to win" The hitting was WAY off from the Windsor game. For description of only significant hitting in the game, go back 2 or 3 paragraphs. The crowd was sparse. But there were a lot of people gone in my section who never--and I mean NEVER--miss a game. So I'll give them a bye. Worst news of all. I do the scorekeeping for the b-ball team my son coaches, and I skipped out on them tonight. The team responded w/ a 1 point win, scoring with 1.2 seconds to play. 1) I definitely made a bad choice, and 2) He'll probably never let me touch the scorebook again!!!! |
