Tonight's match up is huge for the Spirit. They need some points out of tonight's game badly. After disappointing loses to two of the lowest ranked teams in the OHL, a win tonight will get the team back on track. The Western Conference playoff race is starting to tighten up with the Spirit in a good position to move up in the standings.
Only six points out of 4th place, the Spirit need to stay focused. Everyone seems to be looking behind them at Owen Sound but I would like for everyone to start looking up. Windsor and London are fading fast and Plymouth is just playing so so. The Sting are on the rise and Saginaw could be also. The need to strike now because it isn't going to get any easier. Next weekend we have the Soo, the Sting and the Storm, oh my. So come on guys, let's get a win tonight and return to the "smelly" Dow for some good old home cooking next weekend. Peace.

Spirit just had another goal waived off. Fic just had a great quote about the Spirit leading the league in good goals being disallowed....lol Still 0-0, late 1st.

It takes a couple of weeks for the beer smell to take over. Hopefully neither of the opposition goaltenders are country boys. Hard to stop those pucks when your eyes are watering. Peace. |

Spirit are outshooting Barrie by a large margin. I believe Saginaw has 31 shots on goal. 2 goals disallowed again...Ugh!!! Just not getting the breaks on this trip. :-(

Add to that Garrett Sinfield scoring Barrie's second goal and things just don't seem to be going Saginaw's way. Still not out of reach, but the next goal is huge. Stay tuned.
Rosie just clarified after reviewing the video that Sinfield did not put the puck in the net. He was trying to clear the puck behind the goal and it banked off the side of the net and the Barrie player pushed it home. Still not a smart play on the part of
Garrett, but I thought the correction was worth noting.
