I agree McDonough needs to stay on the ice, it's tough to score from the penalty box. I didn't see his second penalty on him. All I saw was a player come up behind him and pull him to the ground. I thought that was BS.

Our boys just can't seem to play up to the level required to beat Plymouth. They are a very physical team, that likes a rough tough game, and it seems take our momentum away with their top line.
Clear that our Powerplay which was tops in the league all season has gone into the tank. Do we lead the league in Shorthanded goals against. It was excuseable when we had Williams giving pucks away, not so excuseable now.
What's going on with our Penalty Kill, near the bottom of the league.
Otherwise our 5 on 5 play has been real good, with the goaltending solid the last few games. Hopefully we can get the win Sunday and salvage a weekend.

with regards to the QB on the power play, I think we're going to be very happy with Comrie and his ability to do that in the coming years...just not right now, unfortunately. Our OA (Sinfield) is definitely not a QB so we're probably stuck with Z and not a d-man. For those that were not there, to me, the passing on the powerplays were the problem...it seemed like they moved the puck well and to the right positions, but were never getting it to a player in a (one-timer) passing or shooting position.
in other news...the game last night sucked for other reasons...
1) No Hooters Drop, I wanted some buffalo shrimp for lent and with no coupon drop, no hooters
2) Best Buy drop...spend $100 to get $10...who am I, some girl shopping at Express? Give me a break
3) No valentines skate??? My wife and I may have been the only ones with skates but to have the gameday staff say "something's wrong with the ice"...i mean, come on, we just played a hockey game out there, why can't a fat guy and his hot wife skate around in celebration of a made up holiday ;D

DJ I agree with you that we do not get the puck to anyone for a onetimer and I think the reason we don't is we are too deliberate with the puck -- we take too long to move it giving the opposition enough time to get into these lanes. The teams with very good powerplays seem to move the puck quickly so we are chasing our tails- so to speak- trying to keep up with the puck.
I have to disagree with you about Comrie being a quarterback. He is a shooter much like Williams was and so you can't be both a QB and a shooter. He shoots better than any other d-man we have but he is not a passer.
I may be wrong about this but until someone else gets a chance to be QB we will not find out.
The way the powerplay is now it might be time to give someone else a try.

Brodie gets my vote for the first try. He passes well and for the most part does a good job of seeing the play. I agree with sensspiritfan on Comrie, and I mean no disrespect to him by that. He is a valuable weapon in his own right, and I do think he might have the potential for it. But right now I don't see it in his game.

i'm not trying to draw a comparison but wouldn't you consider Lidstrom a QB and a Shooter? Maybe i'm way off but I just see a ton of potential in Comrie...time will tell...hopefully i'm right (for the teams sake) ;D

Our OA (Sinfield) is definitely not a QB so we're probably stuck with Z and not a d-man. Sinfield has a good onetime shot. The problem is that the spirit have *all* left handed defenseman (minus underwood). So for them to have a defenseman get set up for a onetime shot, they'd need to be the QB *and* shooter with the current set up. I don't really think we have anyone on defense that can do both. I think they should go to more of a shoot/crash the net mentality on the powerplay. Have two defenseman out to limit the short handed goals, and just get a lot of shots to the net and put in the rebounds.

He was a good QB and and a pretty good shooter as well. Everybody on the power play must be offensive minded and it starts with the QB. Peace.
