Kitchener=pretty fair team. They are going to be tough to beat, and not just for the Spirit. And Mason wasn't even particularly on his game today. Of course we let him off the hook by not taking any shots.....I do not remember a single PP shot on goal today, and the puck spent more time in our end than it did the Rangers'. This has crossed the line from being a slump to being a problem. Jarram v Mashinter: decision Mashinter. Jarram got in a couple of good shots, but Mashinter by sheer number of blows--and not letting Jarram get his arm loose--gets the victory. The sidewalks are a fiasco. I went nuts about them not being shoveled last year at the All Star Game, and they are worse this year. There was no way to get to our car except to walk in the street, and we were far from the only ones. And this doesn't count the possibility of drowning previously mentioned. At least we saw Zane Nealy's debut today. Tough to judge, since nobody looked very good, but he had a couple of good hits, and a nice pass to set Combs up in the third for a good scoring chance. Once again, failing to clear the puck from our zone led to at least two goals. Although since I just watched Kris Draper fail to do the same thing and hand Dallas the winning goal today, maybe it is tougher than it looks.......... Today should pretty well take care of anyone who thinks we would give the Rangers a battle in the first round. Their multiple additions at the trade deadline have really set them up. I was impressed.

What happened to McDonough? I think I only saw him once or maybe twice in the third period.
Hope it is nothing too serious.

He was involved in a check, or whatever, down in the Zamboni south end corner. We don't have a great view of that corner from our seats, so I couldn't see what happened. As he skated off and sat on the bench, he was clearly in some discomfort. Played a couple of more shifts, but didn't look 100%.

to add to johnt's post, he was also in "street clothes" during the skate-with-players. By that, he had showered, put a shirt/tie on, and was on shoes, not skates...even the scratches put their gear on.
the check was right in front of me...it looked like one of those when he tripped and then got checked as he was going down...i thought a penalty should have been called but McD didn't seem to chirp at the official so i guess not.

He hit the boards pretty hard right on his head and left shoulder. I wonder if he hurt his neck? I hope he's alright!

I don't think there was a check, I think he got caught up in someone's skates and went down.
