IGive is correct. If the sentence read "Spirit's first home playoff game will be...." (Which is probably what MC was trying to say, but he is grammatically challenged) but as it reads, first game of playoff series will be at the Dow. A big thank you here to all my English teachers who insisted on grammar, punctuation and sentence diagramming!!!!!
Now that we've gotten that important issue out of the way.............!!

So, if the headline's incorrect...we're not beginning the playoffs at home on March 22??? What is the correct date then??? If you read on in the article he says: If, however, you're nitpicking the article for a grammatical error, there you go. Seriously "What's isn't" .... why am I defending this guy  |

M.C. is not incorrect, he has his facts straight in the article, he just should have worded it differently. That sort of thing happens from time to time.

Based on information taken from the NOOF, here's the first part of the schedule IF we play Windsor in the first round...
Game 1: Thursday, March 20 at Windsor, 7:30 PM
Game 2: Saturday, March 22 at Saginaw, 7:11 PM
Game 3: Sunday, March 23 at Windsor, 7:00 PM

As the title of the thread says, it's the 1st HOME playoff game. Game 1 of any series the Spirit are in will be ON THE ROAD unless the team they play with home ice advantage has a conflict with their home arena. www.saginawspirit.com/ss/home.nsf/public/96C703F616F9E3718525740B004D4948That's why I posted earlier in the thread that if Saginaw plays the Soo they must plan on doing the alternating home games format instead of the 2-2-1-1-1 format they played last season in round 1. If they played the 2-2-1-1-1 format against the Soo this season with the 1st Saginaw home game on Saturday, March 22nd the schedule for the 1st 3 games would have to look like this: Game 1: at the Soo on Thursday, March 20th Game 2: at the Soo on Friday, March 21st Game 3: at Saginaw on Saturday, March 22nd I don't think either team would agree to the above schedule. Just my opinion. |

I was kind of surprised to see we'll be doing a 1-1-1-1 and so on format with the Soo (if we play them) considering today's gas prices to be honest.
