Well, it all comes down to today's game to decide who we play in the 1st round. If we win we play the Soo. If we lose we play Kitchener. Not much else to say about this one.
Note the time difference for today's game...starting at 4:00 PM.
Following the game will be the jersey auction, which according to last night's radio broadcast will be hosted by Cameron Knowles.

Most disappointing play of the period?
Your captain scores a big goal to put the team up 2-0 in one of the biggest games in franchise history - then proceeds to slash a Whaler on his way to the bench to celebrate with his teammates - taking a 2 minute minor.

3-1 Saginaw early in the 2nd as Adam Comrie scores on a 5-on-3 powerplay. The radio feed on Spirit.com cut out so if anyone's trying to listen...I guess you'll have to bust out a radio or go here: www.mediaontap.com/sports/plymouth_whalers.php

What a close one! Bring on the Hounds!!!
Feels great to look at the final standings and see the Whalers below the Spirit. Who would have thought at the start of the year that would happen?
I am so proud of what this team has accomplished this season and proved a lot of people wrong. Hopefully we'll have a strong showing in this year's playoffs. Regardless, the future is very bright in Saginaw!

As Fic would say, that was a humdinger.
I liked our chances when we got to the SO, but I figured it would be a 1 goal win. When you play someone 8 times, there aren't many secret moves left.
Kudoes once again to Ryan Daniels, who merely saved 47 of 50 shots today and hung the goose-egg on the Whalers in the shootout, with a little help from the right post. Daniels has been absolutely stellar the last 4 games, and it was pretty clear playing 3 days in a row did not throw him off his game at all.
Jack Combs is back! 3 assists today for 102 points on the season.
The wave of energy that swept through the Dow when Murovich started down the ice in the SO was incredible. It was incredibly loud. And then he put the puck in the net, and it got louder.
Truthfully--I'm almost as happy to finally beat Plymouth in a big game as I am to finish seventh!!
