Per the Spirit website, the Awards Ceremony is only open to season ticket holders. Don't know why the organization can't open this event to all Spirit fans (at a modest cost, of course). It has been rather sparsely attended in past years. You'd think that many regular, non-season ticket holding fans would like to attend and the guys would like to receive their awards in front of a larger audience.
BTW, it is not a banquet. Meijer and Pepsi are providing light snacks and soft drinks. If it is as in years' past, a cash bar will also be available.

I agree John, I think the Spirit are missing an opportunity here to raise some money for the Spirit Foundation. That said, folks who are not season ticket holders should have no problem getting tickets from season ticket holders who will not be using theirs. My suggestion would be to go to the season ticket holder list and go down the list and start calling folks you know. Don't call me, I will be using my tickets. Check out the corporate ticket holders. Most of those tickets will go un-used.
Here's the official wording from the Spirit Web Site:
The Meijer Awards Ceremony, a celebration of the 2007-2008 hockey season and exlcusive benefit to Saginaw Spirit Season Ticket Holders, will be held on Tuesday, April 1st. The ceremony will start at 7:11 PM, with food and beverages courtesy Meijer and Pepsi available when the doors open at 6:30 PM. This year's ceremony will be held in TheDow Event Center Theater.
Yes, they really did spell exclusive wrong on the web site.

What kind of awards do they give out? This is our first year as season ticket holders. I just asked my son if he wanted to go and he said yes. Myself I could care less one way or the other.

For a list of awards given out (and the winners) for the 2006-2007 season, go to the Spirit website and enter the News Archives. See announcement dated April 3, 2007. Assume that the awards presented tomorrow night will be the same. Anybody want to guess who the various winners will be?

I have always enjoyed going to these. They will show a season highlights video that you can purchase in the lobby. Greg Brady has been the MC in past years so I'm guessing you will have to listen to Fic MC this year's version.
