Proner is not the only Spirit prospect to get drafted by the USHL. Pretty much happens every year. The key here is that Proner is a Canadian kid. Unless he plans on attending college in the US, there is no real attraction with the USHL. After all, the whole point of the USHL is so the NCAA kids have a viable junior option.

They have signed 1999 player's so far great job!! Proner is going to be good but where does he play 6 D returning and hope they add one older D.

At this point, there is no real reason to think the team will add an older defenseman. This still figures to be a young team again this coming season. My guess is that there will be at least 4 guys from last year's team that will not make this year's team. It's going to be interesting to see how this coming season's team takes shape.

That'll do it for this year's 16 yr olds. Now we wait to see if guys like Larionov Jr. (very likely IMO), Jackson, and Rudakov get signed.
