This article by Mark Constantine on Wednesday has been talked about in another thread but I thought it deserved its own thread because I found a couple of interesting items in it. So here is the link:

Now I as a follower of this hockey team since the franchise moved from North Bay has several problems with the article.
First, Brendan Taylor's first name is Brendan, not Brendon. A small typo, but still this bothers me.
Second, Kyle Tront was acquired in a trade on January 9th from Belleville. Edward Pasquale and Brendan Taylor were acquired from Belleville on December 9th. The way I interpret this is article is that all three players came to Saginaw in the same trade.
Third, and I am surprised that no one else has jumped on this and I quote "Yes, Ryan Daniels can come back for an over-age season, but a source said there is little chance Saginaw will bring him back after consecutive playoff failures."
I actually had to go back, re-read this several times to see if what I was reading was correct. The way I interpret this is that Ryan Daniels is to blame for Saginaw not advancing further in the playoffs. Not that in this season's playoffs, Saginaw only scored 9 goals in 4 playoff games this season. The Spirit were 4 for 29 on the power play and two of the three games Daniels played in, Saginaw lost by one goal including one game that ended 2-1. It was all Ryan Daniels fault from what I gathered from this article.
And in the 2006-07 playoffs, Kyle Gajewski certainly didn't play out of this world in that 6 game series, Saginaw's power play scoring 7 goals in 45 chances and Ryan O'Marra getting hurt definitely didn't play roles in the Spirit losing in 6 games. Once again, it was all Ryan Daniels fault from what I understand in this article.
And why don't we just go back and blame the 2005-06 playoff loss on Ryan Daniels as well. Because from what I interpret, is if he would have won Game 4, the only game he played in that series, then Saginaw would have definitely won the next 3 games to beat Guelph and moved on in the playoffs.
Ryan Daniels deserves so much better than getting blamed in that 1 paragraph in the latest Saginaw News article. What should have been said is something like Ryan Daniels most likely won't be back next season because there is a possibility that the Ottawa Senators who own his NHL rights may sign him and Daniels could have the opportunity to play in the American Hockey League or ECHL. That is what should have been written.
But instead, Daniels gets entirely thrown under the bus and I believe that is just not fair. Ryan Daniels, I believe has been a class individual and one of the major reasons this franchise has been able to move forward to a team that competed every single night it took the ice. One of the class moves I saw Daniels make was at the beginning of Game 4 when he skated up to Edward Pasquale before the national anthems and gave him some words of encouragement and gave him a pat on the shoulder. That showed me a lot of class.
I realize that goaltenders get either a lot of blame or a lot of credit for how successful a team is. But I believe that Ryan Daniels in this article is being unfairly singled out and to me that is just not an accurate portrayal of what has occurred the past few playoff seasons.
I welcome comments and feedback from everyone who reads this post.
