For those of you who would like to learn more about our favorite OHL referee, Shaun Davis, go to for a short bio:

BTW, haven't noticed him listed in the playoff box scores this season.
Edit 4-18: Shaun has been officiating AHL games since the OHL regular season ended. Recently did games in Chicago and Cleveland.

He was a ref at the Mem Cup in Vancouver last year, so I suspect that he is either working in the AHL or even the IIHF World Under 18s. I will grudgingly admit he has improved over the past 3 years. Unlike Sean Reid..............

I do believe that Davis refs in the ECHL and the AHL as well.

Sorry, but Shaun Davis did not do any Memorial Cup games last year in Vancouver. O f the 9 games played, Sean Reid officiated 5 of them. IIRC, Mark Hicks was also selected to represent the OHL, but he did not officiate any games.

Mea culpa, johnt. I had the wrong Shaun/Sean. I remember being totally shocked at seeing his name there, and was thinking it was Shaun Davis. Actually, I am still shocked thinking about Reid doing the Mem Cup!!! Davis does do pro and--I think--IIHF hockey. And he did a better job this year. I wonder if last season he hadn't quite found his rhythm having to switch back and forth between pro and OHL. It can be real tough having to find the right level for the O if you've been doing AHL the night before!! Reid and Hicks. Goes to show what I know. Definitely not my choices for best refs in the league.....
