For those not in the know...since the Kitchener Rangers will most likely defeat the Sault...the battle between Belleville and Oshawa is for a trip to the Memorial Cup.
Since Kitchener is hosting the tournament, they recieve an automatic berth into the Memorial Cup. Therefore, if they make the OHL finals, the Eastern Conference champion will either make the Mem Cup by winning the OHL or by "representing" the OHL (as the runner-up) since Kitchener represents the Host City.

The Soo in 6 to throw a monkey wrench into it and make the finals interesting. So far, the playoffs have been pretty dull. Go Hounds Go, spice things up a bit.

The Soo battles back and wins Game 2 by a score of 3-1, despite getting outshot 44-19. The series is now tied 1-1. Game 2 of the East Finals is tomorrow I believe.

Belleville is now halfway to the OHL Finals with a 4-3 win over Oshawa in Game 2. Oshawa jumped out to a 3-0 lead just 4 minutes into the game, but Belleville scored 4 straight after former Spirit netminder Parker VanBuskirk shut out the Generals the rest of the way. The East Finals continue tomorrow night in Belleville for Game 3, while the West Finals don't play again until Sunday.

i was just looking at the OHL brackets and realized that there has only been 1 "game six" and 0 "game sevens" in the playoffs this year. I find that really odd, especially in the Eastern Conference where I thought teams were a little more balanced.

It doesn't look like you will see a game 6 or game 7 in the finals either. If the Bull don't get their act together there won't be a game 5 either.

Sounds like there was a wild scene in Belleville at the end of game 2 the other night with a scuffle or two in the stands and an attempt to light a Kitchener jersey on fire. thenoof.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26184thenoof.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26191
