One year ago today, March 8, 2020 The Spirit played their last game. Let's hope that sometime in the not to distant future we will once again be able to go to a Spirit game in person. For the record the March 8th game was a 4-3 win over Erie in Erie. The Spirit's last home game was February 29th where they beat Hamilton 8-2. That said, I enjoyed watching Damien Giroux and DJ Busdecker playing on the same ice together again last night on TV even though they were playing against each other. They both scored goals so that was good. Here's to better times ahead.

I was at that game at the end of a road swing, it was a nice afternoon out in Erie and it was a pleasant drive home. I believe the road trip started with the school day game against Mississauga that had probably 100 people total in attendance (due to a teachers issue I believe, not COVID), then a nice win in Hamilton before stopping in Niagara Falls and enjoying the Falls before the Erie game.
Never thought we would be here, I remember that the Spirit were on their way or going to be on their way to Windsor for a game and there were a couple tweets that the game was still going to be played...and then the dominoes started falling.
It's frustrating to see all QMJHL and now WHL starting back up, but we are dead in the water here. I get both sides of the issue, I just really miss this team. We had such a stacked team.
