Here are some photos from the development camp: www.facebook.com/media/set?vanity=DreamBiggerPhotography&set=a.1115505909029812A couple takeaways: -Misa looked good. Did not show that he was younger than everyone else out there, and had a couple nice goals in the 3-on-3. Really looking forward to seeing him play. -Parekh was the star of the 3-on-3 in my opinion. Kid's got some moves. He has several impressive goals and was a lot of fun to watch. -This was one of the most talented development camps I've been to. It was a lot of fun to watch and I can't wait for the season to get started.

The locker room is getting even more packed with the addition of U18 draft Lincoln Moore. There's definitely going to be some movement or just flat out cuts to last year's roster which stinks for those guys but I love to see us potentially upgrading all over the place. This year should be a major improvement and then the year after that there's a good chance we're totally loaded and ready to finally get that title. saginawspirit.com/article/news-spirit-sign-2022-u-18-pick-lincoln-moore

I'd argue that while our record was poor, considering how far Flint has made it through the post-season and a conference championship for them possible tonight, that we were better this season than it looked and just were unlucky to have to face a great team multiple times. We competed with Flint just fine early in the season until we were plagued with injuries, and even after we had some close games with them. Worth looking at the positives, that's for sure.
Either way, should be a giant improvement next season.

I mentioned that the dressing room will be busy…actually putting it to paper makes it look even more crowded. I listed the rookies first because they’ve been signed and should be up with the team. Considering that teams can only dress 18 skaters, there’s 8 people on this list that won’t be in the lineup or won’t be on the team.
Forwards: 1) Michael Misa 2) Joey Willis 3) Bode Stewart 4) Lincoln Moore 5) Josh Bloom 6) Matyas Sapovaliv 7) Tbone Codd 8) Dean Loukas 9) Calem Mangone 10) Sebastian Gervais 11) Luke McNamara 12) Ian Phillips 13) Evan Klein 14) Justin O’Donnell 15) Charlie Fink 16) Carson Christy
Defensemen: 1) Zayne Parekh 2) Josh Glavin 3) Pavel Mintukov 4) Mitchell Smith 5) Roberto Mancini 6) Braydon Hislop 7) PJ Forgione 8) Olivier Savard 9) Matthew Jovanovic 10) Pacey Schleuting
Goalies: 1) Tristan Lennox 2) Andrew Oke 3) Brett Fullerton

The 2022-23 schedule is out, starting on Saturday, October 1 at home vs. Guelph. Nice to see the Eastern Conference teams back on the schedule. saginawspirit.com/schedule/73/34

Lol It could be strategic based on last season. If for some reason covid is a big issue again, they could pull ahead a bunch of Flint games again and not run out of games. I don't anticipate that and I'm guessing the league doesn't either since we're doing our long road trips again but it could be a failsafe if things go haywire.

Looks like Fink could be moving on... He was one of the few who brought some toughness so we're even further behind now... You can get all the skill but if guys don't have room to skate you can't use it.

Today’s Toronto Star has an article—which I am unable to link, and is behind a paywall—concerning a major bullying case at a “hockey school” in Kitchener. The case involves civil and possible legal implications. One of the named defendants is Evan Klein. I am making no judgment, and this is not gossip—it’s media verified. But it certainly has the potential to impact the Spirit next season.

But it certainly has the potential to impact the Spirit next season. I think Klein was a longshot to make the roster next year unless he really improved in the offseason. I struggled last year to see what he brought to the table...he has good size but I don't think I ever saw him hit anyone and he doesn't have close to enough speed to be a difference maker in this league. If he suddenly becomes a physical player, I can see him getting a spot but my guess is that he's traded or cut.

For what it's worth, if any of you are an Apple News + subscriber, you can often do a search on these headlines and find the story on there. Here's the link for anyone who subscribes: apple.news/AkyCT2wYcTES2iUsFtEy8TQ
