I don't think even those most optimistic of fans thought we'd get a sniff of the CHL Top 10 but here we are as an honorable mention!

1) What's the goaltending situation? Andrew Oke was solid last year in his rookie season and performed well at Wings camp from all accounts. Couple that with making Team USA a few weeks ago and he's shown that he's ready for #1 minutes in the OHL. Brett Fullerton would be a capable backup so where does that leave Lennox? To me, this season is still part of a rebuild so it makes ZERO sense to give any minutes to an OA goalie but you hate to give him away for free and lose games to him. Very much the #1 question if you ask me. I don't think this question is resolved yet but I wanted to point out the stellar play from both of our goalies since the mid-week Flint debacle. Hopefully they don't lay another egg tonight. Tristan Lennox 5-1 1.83 GAA .925 Save % Andrew Oke 4-0 2.25 GAA .913 Save % Those are stellar numbers from both guys and some of the credit needs to go to the skaters because they're blocking shots and giving up fewer odd man rushes although the goalies are still seeing their fair share of them. Hopefully they both can keep it up and it will be interesting to see if Lennox gets moved. I just have no idea if anyone is looking for an OA goalie but if they are...those numbers sure look appealing to me!

Saginaw likely gets run out of the building if not for Lennox last night. He was excellent and made several highlight reel saves. Really important to win the game on the powerplay because I'm not sure we would have had the horses to keep up with Flint in a 3-on-3 situation.

Oke stands tall in goal and Misa continues to be “exceptional” with a goal and an assist as Spirit extend winning streak to 8 games with a 4-1 win at Sarnia on Friday, November 25th. Mintyukov also had a goal and an assist. With the win, the Spirit sweep their 3 regular season road games against the Sting. Saginaw looks for their 9th consecutive win tonight at home against Windsor. The Spits are coming off of a 4-3 shootout loss to Flint last night at home.

Spirit are on a franchise-tying 9-game winning streak after a 7-2 stomping of Windsor tonight. There really was no doubt tonight, the Spirit came to play and took control of this game and held it throughout. Almost killed off the 5-on-3 late to win it 7-1 with some terrific saves by Lennox.
Looking pretty darned good right now. Obviously a long way to go, but it's looking like we can win any game we're in.

Zayne Parekh is on fire right now. Another 2 goals and 2 assists for him last night. I'll be heading up to the Soo on Friday to see if we can make it 10 straight.

Parekh’s trip to the U17’s might turn out to be the best thing to happen to him and the Spirit this year. Stud in the making.

Parekh got my attention at the development camp last year. Was the star of the 3-on-3 and looked better than Misa did. I had a good feeling about him.

Parekh’s trip to the U17’s might turn out to be the best thing to happen to him and the Spirit this year. Stud in the making. Getting him at #19 was a steal...there were times at the beginning of the season where you looked at him and said "ok, he's just 16, he'll make those mistakes" and since he's been back from the u17's, he looks like a seasoned veteran out there. I'd love to see Stewart get more ice time too...he impresses me in the few shifts he's out there and looks like he has good speed/strength for a 16yo. Seems like Storch is getting the minutes right now and doing fine but I'd like to see more out of Stewart. Seems like Codd must be injured so maybe that will be an opportunity for someone.

Codd has been out with a lower body injury. Heard it was a knee.
