My opinion(and only my opinion): 5 and a game is sufficient for the hit, no further punishment. (Even though it’s Piercey). Abuse of officials is another story, and if the OHL has any, umm, guts at all, they’ll give him the automatic that allegedly goes along w that. I am not holding my breath.

Flint is also really missing Braeden Kressler. Hasn't played in two weeks. I keep waiting for him to show up.
I don't think Piercey will get anything either. I still can't believe Brandt Clarke only got one game for the kneeing incident in the Barrie/Hamilton series. Thankfully no one was hurt, but I thought it looked really bad.

A couple of Windsor players only got 2 games for shooting pucks out of play after the whistle. What happened to it being an automatic 5 game suspension like Prosvetov got? Still haven’t gotten an explanation.

Yes, the Clarke knee was bad. The OHL proving once again that a player’s reputation does matter when it comes to suspensions.

If that was the case, Guryev would have been banned from the league all together a while ago. Lol

I’m having flashbacks to the Guelph series in 2019. Please prove me wrong Saginaw Spirit.

How many f*ing breakaways is this team going to allow? It's been an issue for the past two seasons without much improvement.

Does anyone know why Piercey didn't get suspended for the 5 minute major and/or the abuse of the official?
Also, why didn't Flint get at the very least, a bench minor when their coach started banging the player's stick against the bench wall? He literally turned to the player and asked for the kid's stick to do that.
I was under the impression that these types of actions were a distinct "no-no".

You would have to ask the league office about why Piercey wasn’t suspended. I’m sure there was a review because any 5 minute major with a game misconduct does get reviewed. As for the Flint coach, referees decided against a penalty for whatever reason. Now, we may hear from the league about some kind of discipline to him in the next day or so. We shall see.

Anything can happen in a Game 7, but that's going to be a tough loss to bounce back from. Bad time to have the worst period of the season. I think Saginaw has been the better team for most of this series, but Nathan Day has made a lot of huge, timely saves for Flint. He and Oke should have some great goaltending battles in future seasons.

Well it’s game 7 in about 3-1/2 hours. Do or die, win or go home for both teams. Can this young Spirit team overcome what happened on Saturday? We shall find out.

Regardless of what happens tonight, this series is a FANTASTIC experience for the Spirit. They'll honestly not face anything like this because they're so evenly matched with our rival. Next year, we'll be loaded up with new and returning players and we should be a favorite until the conference finals (similar to how it was the last time we were in the playoffs). It's possible that we play Flint again in the playoffs next year but it would be in the 1-8 or 2-7 matchup, not as virtual evens like we are now. The team is definitely reeling right now and hanging on for dear life but hopefully they come out ready to play and don't hold anything back and we'll come out on the victorious end and celebrate. I just hope the refs aren't the story tonight...my fear is that we're going to see Hutchinson in the stripes tonight and he always likes to be the star.

We'll, the refs gave it their best shot (Sorry, I refuse to accept that Flint played a penalty free game) but the boys showed what they are made of. I don't think my heart could handle any more games with Flint, those were all soooo intense.
Hats off to Flint and their fans... Both showed up home and away and this was truly a 7 game war... Glad we came out on top but neither team deserved to lose.

I would be perfectly fine with not having another series against Flint for a long time Just proud of the team for bouncing back after the Game 6 disaster. Happy for Mitchell Smith with the primary assist on the winning goal and the empty net goal. I don't think anyone wanted to win this series on either team more than he did. When all is said and done he will have only been captain for a couple months, but he might be one of my favorites. Sarnia is going to be a heavy favorite and even if Saginaw gets swept and gets blown out every game I'm still proud of this group. Both teams really left it all out there.
