The following 13 players were assigned to the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen: Chris Beckford-Tseu, Michal Birner, Zack Fitzgerald, Gino Guyer, Charles Linglet, Doug Lynch, Ryan MacMurchy, Greg Mauldin, Ryan Ramsay, Alexei Shkotov, Rocky Thompson, Patrick Wellar and Konstantin Zakharov. The following four players were assigned to their junior teams: Ryan Clendenning (Acadie-Bathurst), Scott Jackson (Seattle), Jordan Kell (London) and Ryan Wilson (Toronto). The Blues have released forward Casey Lee. The Blues will play their first preseason game on Tuesday, September 19 at Chicago and will also play at Minnesota on Thursday, September 21 and at Atlanta on Saturday, September 23. The Blues first home preseason game is on Sunday, September 24 vs. Atlanta. The club will follow up with two more home games at Scottrade Center on Wednesday, September 27 vs. Chicago and Thursday Sept. 28 vs. Minnesota.

I happened to be in DesMoines on business and saw the Iowa Stars play Peoria and Michel Birner. He played alot. He was left wing on their 2nd line and the point on their first power play unit. He worked hard defensively which I never really noticed when he was playing here. You don't get a whole lot of really good scoring chances in that league, but he got 2 good ones and just missed both time.
