Well, obviously as stated in other threads Daniels was returned to Saginaw, so that's good news here. Also saw today Pyatt was sent down to Hartford of the AHL. Guess he won't make the big team for opening night (I don't think that's really a surprise to anyone).

Haskins was sent to the Islanders AHL affiliate Bridgeport Sound Tigers...

Bass was sent down to Binghamton, also. Going farther back, Geoff Platt was also sent back to the AHL, as was Birner. O'Marra was also sent down to the AHL. So I think that only leaves Chris Thorburn as a former Spirit player still with an NHL club, and he is expected to be the 3rd or 4th line RW for Atlanta all year.

I know alot of you out there would like to forget that Matt Corrente was ever here, but for the rest of us who thought he was pretty good, He had an assist and a fight for New Jersey last night against the Islanders.

I don't remember that anyone said he wasn't good, gasman, just that he needed to grow up, among other things. I expect him to do well in the NHL someday, probably better than he has done in the O.

Jackman Vs Corrente.
Its down at the other end of the ice,where I can barely see. Its basically all Jackman. They trade a ton,but it looks like only Jackman connects. They wrestle towards the end with Jackman throwing Corrente to the ice. Win Jackman.

...where he can play with another former Spirit player, DJ Jelitto. Jelitto has been there pretty much since he left Saginaw. |
