What happened to them? They have not worked a normal Saturday night in some time. Hope they weren't budget cut out.

1) the Dance Team is not composed of Spirit alumni
2) Dance team is to hockey as fish is to bicycle.
It is my devout hope they are gone for the duration.

Not much surprises me in this world, but I am honestly shocked to see this thread... and to see it getting responses!!! ahhh, gensfan...yet another closet orlando fan seriously though, why do we care if they're there...the don't do what other dance teams do...they should be walking around in small groups getting fans excited with some sort of promotional giveaway that you can throw to screaming young girls and boys. All they do is stare at themselves on the jumbotron, change clothes, and disturb my conversations or tv watching in the blueline. edit: i actually do want a dance team there...i myself am one of those red-bloods mentioned above...just please, enough of this equal opportunity bs, Orlando needs to go. When i'm getting smacked by my wife for saying "bring on the dancing girls" i want it to be girls, not girls and, oh yah, ONE GUY. |

After doing some asking around this weekend I learned that the dance team and Spirit management didn't see eye-to-eye on things and are no longer affiliated with the hockey team. They will, however, now be working with the Saginaw Sting football team. So if anyone wants to see Orlando some more, get your tickets soon.  And by the way, I don't believe the Spirit Dance Team got paid...I think they just did it on their own time/love for it, etc. So no budget cuts or anything of that nature. |

Thanks for the update. I see where the dance team or part of them will be with the new football team. I hope they know what they are getting into. The clientele at those games will be much different than the families going to the Spirit games. That crowd plus a few beers could make it rough on the dancers.
