Arniel scores with 5 minutes left. Mini-break away after splitting D. Saginaw 3-1 sounds like they all played good around game

Special teams definitely the difference tonight. 3/4 on the PP, and the PK on gave up the one late goal. Sarnia looks like a team that could really struggle for goals this year, unless they have some top scorer still at camp.

Spirit had excellent PK tonight, but Sarnia is short-handed and really struggling. A good win for Saginaw, but they will need to play better tomorrow.
Bochek scored EN goal. OHL website says Szwarz but it was definitely Bochek. Should be assists as well. Also, Murovich did not assist on Szwarz second goal. I think it was Comrie. Doesn't really matter I guess. Just clarity.
Welcome tc21 to the board.

Went to the game last night and saw a Saginaw team outwork a Sarnia team that was missing 3 of thier top players.
Saginaw scored early on the PP and then effectively killed off penalty after penalty.
Saginaw PP was good tonight- finally we have someone who is not afraid to stand in front of the goalie-way to go Sanderson. He created traffic on the first three goals so the Sarnia tender could not get ahold or see the puck clearly. Murovich with the first the Swarz with the next two which were carbon copies of each other.
Swarz and Plecatis were head and shoulders above everyone last night, they outhustled and outmuscled Sarnia and came out on top of every little battle along the boards and in front of the net.
I thought Bochek had a decent game for his first with the Spirit.
The PK was awsome tonight with the Spirit taking the puck from the Sting repeatedly both in the Spirit zone as well as the Sting zone- Great job by Chappell, Swarz and Plecatis.
Eddie played a solid game but I think he wishes he had the only shot that beat him back as the puck barely made it to the back of the net.
Good win, great hustle and good luck in the Soo tonight.

McDonough to box for charging for 4 minutes. Ref (Hoberg) called it charging, but Jay practically ran the Sting player thru the end boards. Shoulda been called either boarding or checking from behind.

I thought Comrie as well but Sarnia TV said Breen. Sorry! It was definitely Comrie's assist on a shot from the right point, unless Breen changed his number to 24.

I think Bochek played one shift in the first. At least he was mentioned once as being on the ice. He turned the puck over at his own blue line. Kyle played a regular shift during the entire game. Reports about him from Kingston fans are true. He is a Watson-type player and will be an asset to the Spirit. After watching him play last night, I wonder how he had only scored 17 goals in slightly over 100 career games as a Front. Met his parents and they are very nice folks. They're travelling up to the Soo for tonight's game. Both Kyle and his parents are very, very happy about Kyle coming to Saginaw.

And, the Sarnia play-by-play with Terry Doyle said Jack Combs is in Sarnia tonight watching the game. Mentioned something about a foot injury. Also, Lake Erie training camp does not start for another week I think. Not reading anything into this situation, just mentioning. Jack was at the game last night and appeared to be walking with a slight limp. Hopefully, nothing serious.

allicock immediately following and oquinn's jersey came up otherwise I think he was going to get pounded by allicock Exactly!!! O'Quinn's jersey came up almost immediately. Best thing that could have happened to him. Kain got in a couple of quick pops before the linesmen broke it up. Allicock had a distinct size advantage.

Good scrap between Lombardi and Sanderson. A couple of haymakers by each, but edge to Lombardi. Good go though. That had been brewing for a few minutes. One of the better bouts I've seen lately. Both guys shed some equipment and skated to center ice area. Yeah, they each threw and landed some punches. Lombardi did better near the end, but Barry landed some solid punches early on. This probably would have been a close split decision if it had been a boxing match.

I see the official OHL Scoresheet showed 8 D Men listed. Did all 8 see action?
