Saginaw is back in action tonight, starting a 3 game road trip against Eastern Conference opponents in Peterborough against the Petes. Petey is 5-2-0-1 on the season for 11 points while the Spirit are 3-3-2-1 for 9 points. If I'm not mistaken, Saginaw has won 3 of the past 4 meetings between the 2 clubs.
Let's go Spirit!!!

Someone just posted in the NOOF game thread that it looks like Asselin might have a serious ankle injury. Report please??

All Knowles has said is that he has not returned to the bench. Terrific. We lose Asselin and Daniels early in Game 1 of a 3 game East trip.

Another game where the Spirit "worked hard" and "never gave up". That's good, but they really need to quit putting themselves behind the 8 ball early. Knowles says losing Daniels and Asselin (to a--and I'm quoting here--"lower body twinge") hurt them.Maybe. It doesn't explain this continuing pattern, though.

Another moral victory, whoopee.
Pachis takes 3 minors. I doubt he will see much ice time for a while.

What happened to Daniels?? I see he was pulled after the 2nd Petes goal in the 1st period according to the on line scoresheet. I thought maybe Watson was just making a change to shake things up when I saw it.

Ryan got injured when the Pete's scored their 2nd goal. Daley drove the net, and along with the Spirit defenseman, both collided with Daniels. Ryan was visibly shaken and was removed from the game. He wasn't "pulled" from the game.
Pat Asselin was injured in the 2nd and didn't return. He was limping at the restaurant after the game. Hope he's OK. Too bad. It was probably his last game before his hometown fans. No penalty on the play, but it looked like there should have been a call based on the replay shown on the video screeen.
Team played an awesome first few minutes of the game and throughout the third period. Totally dominated the Petes in the 3rd, but couldn't seem to get the puck by Cann. A couple of minor penalties late in the 3rd hurt their chances.
Coach Watson really shook things up tonight. I counted 10 different line combinations in the 1st period, plus 3 more early in the 2nd. I stopped counting after that.

Only three teams with no wins on the road. Saginaw's 0 for 6, Kingston 0 for 5, Missy 0 for 3. Not good. Better change soon, like this weekend! Everyone else in our division got points besides us that was playing tonight - 2 for Plymouth and Sarnia and 1 for Windsor.
Pachis may not be ready for the O yet. I'm questioning the draft pick. Call me crazy. I'm not real impressed. He certainly deserves tons more time before a final thumbs-up or down, but he's not very strong on the puck, even for his age.
Although, no offense to him, Clouthier may have been the worst 16 year old forward I've ever seen carrying the puck in the league. Pachis is much better than him for what it's worth.

Saginaw is actually 0 for 7 on the road with tonight's loss correct?? 2 losses and an OT loss to the Soo, an OT loss to Belleville, a SO loss to Windsor, a loss to Niagara, and tonight's loss to the Petes. That's 3 points out of a possible 14 points which is awful. You would at least like to see this be more like 7 or 8 out of 14 points. Doesn't change mp's conclusion......it really does need to change soon. I knew October would be a tough stretch with all of the road games but if you can't win at all on the road it just adds that much more pressure to win at home to at least stay at 0.500 or better.

I'm not the greatest judge of talent in the world, but I haven't changed my mind at all in 2 months. And other than size, I never saw it in Clouthier. If we don't win tomorrow night at Kingston, we may not win on the road all year. The Fronts' fans are in open rebellion over their team's shortcomings and management's perceived failures. (Although in this case the fans are probably right, especially about mgmt). Other than Emmerton, doesn't sound like there is much on the ice for the Fronts. Cross your fingers.
