The Spirit wrap up their 4 game road trip tonight with a stop in Sarnia to take on the Sting. Saginaw is 1-0 against Sarnia this season, which was a thrilling 5-4 win in Saginaw about a month or so ago. This will be the first game between the 2 clubs since the Berard/Van Buskirk trade, which so far has proven to be an excellent trade for Saginaw. I don't see any reason why he won't get the start tonight, unless if Coach Watson wants to get Daniels back into the action (if he's healthy). Should be an exciting game and hopefully we'll have a large group of Spirit fans making the trip.
In other OHL news...Sault Ste. Marie finally loses their first game of the season tonight (in regulation) to Barrie on the road 4-1. Meanwhile, the Knights have now won 6 straight games since the return of goaltender Steve Mason from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Looking at the standings, Saginaw is tied for last place in the Western Division, but would be in 2nd place in the Midwest Division. Good to see we are holding our own in what is probably the OHL's toughest division this year.
Go Spirit!!!

Windsor kicked the "you know what" out of Niagara tonight 6 to zip, nada, zilch!!! Niagara heads to Plymouth before finishing their 3 game Western road trip against Saginaw on Sunday afternoon. It's the one and only appearance in Saginaw this season for former Spirit "bad boys" Matt Corrente and Scott Fletcher.

This will be the first game between the 2 clubs since the Berard/Van Buskirk trade, which so far has proven to be an excellent trade for Saginaw. I don't see any reason why he won't get the start tonight, unless if Coach Watson wants to get Daniels back into the action (if he's healthy). If Daniels is healthy here is how I would decide who to start in goal if I were the head coach: 1. If Van Buskirk has a fairly calm demeanor, I would start him against the Sting. He will be motivated to play well but he won't get too anxious. 2. If the "Bus" is the excitable type that is likely to get all hyped up knowing he'll be playing against his old mates, I would go with Daniels. I've seen it so many times where someone just gets so psyched up that they use up all of their energy before the game even starts and then end up falling flat on their face.

Anyone have an OHL rule book? HOW can they take away a goal AFTER play resumes?? This is a joke!

Sinfield scores on a 5-on-3 powerplay to tie the game 4-4. We'll see if they take away the goal a few minutes from now.

End of the 2nd period...tie game 4-4. I will be incredibly upset if we lose this game, whether it be in regulation or OT, but not because of our effort. Shots are 40-17 in favor of Saginaw.
