OK, it's 4:40 pm Sunday afternoon (4:40 am in Saginaw) in beautiful Shanghai, China. I'm still hung over from our apartment complex Halloween party last night so I have nothing better to do than start the game day thread for the return of Fletcher and Corrente to "The Dow". Wish I could be there with my section 18 brethren but I'm sure those who are in attendance will make up for my absence.

Well it looks like Fletcher will be playing but I see Corrente has not dresssed the last 2 games, does anyone know why?

I'm planning to be up at 2 am here in Shanghai to follow this game either via the radio webcast or the video webcast via the OHL website. So who for Saginaw is going to step up and take on Mr. Fletcher??

hopefully nobody...if you've seen any of Fletcher's videos from this year he has kicked the crap out of EVERYBODY, even Theo Peckham from OS. He would love to roll one of the Spirit in the Dow, i hope no one challenges him.

I'm pretty sure it won't be Jason McDonough!

Corrente I believe has actually played only 3 games this year. I could be wrong but I think I heard he was nursing some sort of foot or ankle injury. Don't quote me on it.

Kain Allicock probably won't be dressed due to his secondary fight during the same stoppage of play. I think they could really use him today. Could be chippy affair.

Corrente is out with a wrist injury.

2-1 Niagara late in the 1st. Zaborsky, who has been hot lately, opened the scoring, but the IceDogs have countered with 2 powerplay goals. Shots are 14-8 in favor of Saginaw.

5-2 Niagara late in the game. Sounded like a pretty uneventful day at the Dow.

Corrente's wrist injury did not prevent him from playing, getting an assist, and picking up a match penalty w/ 6 seconds to go in the game. Unlike last year's brouhaha, which unfolded directly in front of me, I could not see exactly what happened this year. Fletcher was pretty well behaved. He did have the check of the game (my award, not LaSalle Bank's) on Tomas Zaborsky.

What did Corrente do now?

I think while Comrie was tied up with whoever, and the linesman might have been there as well, the felon jumped in and landed a punch on Comrie.

I don't know which was more disturbing, Corrente being an idiot on the ice, or the Niagara fans near by claiming he didn't do anything.

I actually thought he played a pretty good game and things were going to end smoothly between him and Saginaw, being as how it's likely his last time here. Of course, I didn't make allowances for the fact that there were still 6 whole seconds left in the game when I thought it.
