The Fletcher entourage of girls was more annoying than anything I've ever experienced at the Dow.

Terrible game yesterday. Spirit started out hard and then basically quit about five minutes into the second period. Still the same problem of tons of shots on goal, but all of them are on the ice, which any good goalie will stop.
If any of the other teams in the league are paying attention, the way to score on Daniels is to get his rebound. Daniels seems to ALWAYS sprawl on the first shot and he is SLOW to get up, every time, usually allowing for an excellent scoring chance for the opposition. The majority of the goals yesterday happened that way.
However, the game was still in reach until the third when Williams all but GAVE the puck away RIGHT in front of his own goal, something that Daniels didn't see apparently, assumed due to his very slow response and another easy goal for Niagra.
I don't know, I know we'll have games like this, but this was frustrating to watch.
The shot on Comrie with 6 seconds to go was ridiculous. VERY blatant.

He rocked Comrie hard. Comrie was stunned pretty good by it and I don't mean "Wow, did you really hit me?" stunned. It was definitely one of the worst cheap shots I've seen in the OHL since I've been watching.

I personally thought it could of been worse if it hadnt been for Daniels .. I thought the game could of been out of reach in the second period if it wasnt for some of the saves.
I just find the Spirit to be a very "Hot and Cold" type of team

The Fletcher entourage of girls was more annoying than anything I've ever experienced at the Dow. girls being the key word here, were any of them over 15? oops, I should not have gone there. ;D To Nigels credit, he was to the SIDE of the Saginaw goal ;D I thought Fletch played a good game and only took one stupid penalty. Good for him, maybe he's changed his ways. I see that in that last scrum with 6 seconds to go, Comrie got a 5'er for checking to the head, I don't remember that. Also Corrente got a match penalty, isn't that an automatic review by the league? Caputi and Snow, can you say cherry pickers? Team needs a LOT of coaching on defense. Not sure who took the dive on the fifth goal, but he was going for the shooter and you have to let Daniels take the shooter and (the D-man) take away the pass. This is basic hockey 101.

The majority of the goals came from defensive breakdowns that should have never happened, not Daniels rebounds. I will agree with you Sparky, we need help on the defensive end. We really don't have a bad team on paper, we just need to learn to play as a team.

The issue with the defense is that they are playing three 17 year olds on D with 1 being his first year in the league. That and Williams still not playing within the team structure and trying to do it all by himself.

Also Corrente got a match penalty, isn't that an automatic review by the league? I believe a match penalty is an automatic 1 or 2 game suspension that is also reviewed by the league office. The league can impose a longer suspension based on this review. Surprise, surprise, still nothing on the OHL website media notes section regarding a suspension to Mr. Corrente.

That and Williams still not playing within the team structure and trying to do it all by himself. He's NEVER in position! From what I have seen his shot is MUCH more effective from the blue line but lately he's always up by the net while the offensive guys are covering the blue line. Why?

Announced attendance was only 3100??? Yikes!!! What are people hearing around the rink about the lack of fans this season?? Have they even broken 4000 for a game yet??

for those attendance worry warts...here is a direct comparison from last year to this year. Both games were home against the "fill in the blank" St-Michaels Majors 10/28/06 (Saturday Night) - Attendance - 3356 www.ontariohockeyleague.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=12455This was MSU on the road & UofM at home (Noon) 10/27/07 (Saturday Night) - Attendance - 3745 www.ontariohockeyleague.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=14598This was MSU on the road & UofM at home (3:30) If you are wondering why Sunday's attendance was down, my advice is to check the NFL Standings, our love/hate Lions are actually contending for the division this year and kicked off at 1pm versus the Spirit's 2pm start.

I'll tell you what I think about the attendance. Any time I attend another game I'm surely not going to drop $12 or so more dollars for a pop, popcorn and dip'n dots. The prices are ridiculous this season. Less for more. The new guy running the Dow might just be trying to run it into the ground.
The real reason I'm sure is that football is a huge draw this season. Also, it's (mainly IMHO) due to management's decision to start over, once again, coaching-wise too. Although, I don't think thay are playing bad at all.

I purchased some chicken tenders for 6.00 opening day, and they charged me .50 for 1 packet of sauce. Thats BS, and I have heard others complaining about it also. I will never buy them again.

That's like 6 bucks Canadian nowaday's! ;D
