Just received a Spirit press release that they have hired Terry Ficorelli as their new VP of Communications. Great hire!!!! Have listened to Terry broadcast Mushegon Fury (UHL/IHL) games in years' past. If he hasn't changed his style, everyone is gonna love this guy. He certainly is unique and fun to listen to. Announcement is probably on the Spirit website as I write this.

I met him a couple weeks ago when he was in town and seems like a really nice guy. I've also heard he has a "different" style which will take some getting used to but I've also heard that he's a pro and i like that. From what the first two posters have said, combined with what i've heard, it seems like we can finally have a solid replacement for Brady (not that Cameron hasn't been doing a great job ;D)

...this may be a bit negative but I have listened to this play by play person and he is not the worst I have heard but....................he is awfully close and is about as opposite of Greg Brady as you can believe...good luck... maybe he'll tone it down 1000%..get ready for some interesting pronunciations...SAAAAAGGGGINAAAAWWWWW SPEEEEEEEERRRRRIIITTTTTT is my first guess...

This is truly a shocker. I did not see this coming. Fic is a great announcer and has over 30 years experience in the booth. Was the only broadcaster in Fury history and will be weird hearing him on the airwaves here. I wish him well.
Welcome aboard Fic!!!!

Fic really hasn't changed his style. Not only is he good on game days but also does a weekly call in show on Monday nights (even in the summer) which is rare. Works very hard during the offseason and I believe has a huge streak going like over 1,000 games in a row without missing one. Ron Ropp (Fury beat writer) wrote an article about him last year and mentioned it. A different style than Brady, but people here will appreciate him. I don't like many announcers but I would rate Fic in the upper echelon.

As long a he mentions the score more than twice a period I'll be happy with him.

As long a he mentions the score more than twice a period I'll be happy with him. Good point!!! Nothing worse than tuning in and having to wait 10-15 minutes minimum before you hear what the score is.

very good point...for example:
there was a home game a couple weeks ago that we won at the last few seconds and I couldn't make the game and i flipped the game on as I drove home from the birthday party. I listened for the last 2-3 minutes from my driveway and when we scored the last second goal I didn't know if it was to tie or win. I finally had to pull up the scores on my cellphone to see the result.

when is the Fic supposed to take over?
I saw a big sign on one of the section walls saying a goodbye/thanks message to cameron. Hopefully Cameron will come on here to say goodbye to all of us before he leaves...then again, in cyberspace, is he ever really gone?

Word is that Fic's first day on the job is Dec 10. As a former "resident" of Muskegon, I look forward to hearing him once again.

..Cameron Knowles was the first Saginaw contact for new player"s parents and he was a true booster of the club and the city from day 1 , an original...especially the first year for North Bay Centennial parents...the team was lucky to have him.....good luck to him...he deserves it...a team trophy in his name for community involvement/media relations on the part of a player would not be out of line..

I could not agree more!! Best wishes Cam to you and your wife as you both embark on new phases of your professional careers. You will be missed but not forgotten here in Saginaw (and Shanghai).
