Mitchell Stephens and Evan Cormier had both been named to Canada's U18 team. Stephens was an expected pick but Cormier kind of wasn't completely expected. But he earned that spot for sure. Congrats to the both of them!

Stephens will be the captain for team Canada at the tournament. Congrats to him! Here's hoping both he and Evan do a great job in showing what the future of Spirit hockey is all about.

As a point of reference, this team is made up of guys from teams who did not make the playoffs. If they opened it to all teams, the roster would look much different.

Another great showing by the Spirit prospects today. Stephens will 2 assists (5 pts in 2 games) and Cormier stops 19 of 20 after Canada gave up 6 in the opening game.

Stephens held pointless for the first time at the U18 tourney today. Cormier did get his second W however after stopping 31 of 33 in a 3-2 victory against Finland.

The USA handled the Canadians easily today winning 7-2. Stephens continues to see his stock rise after adding another goal. Certainly have to think he'll go higher than his 112 NA skater ranking after his strong showing in this tournament. (seriously how'd he get put that low?)
Cormier appeared in the game in relief and gave up 3 goals.
Canada will now play in the bronze medal game against the lose of Finland and Switzerland.
