Whatever the problem is with the Spirit, it isn't Kris Bennett. Works his tail off every shift. Getting rewarded for it much more this season than last. Niemelainen looks like he is really hitting his stride. Coskey starting to adapt to OHL. One of Barwell's best games as a Spirit. That was a DOMINANT effort over the last two periods. Where has that team been for the last 8 games? Wait...what? A young team with lots of new pieces is figuring out how to play both in the league and with each other? I know you're not one of the ones railing on the team but I think this post is important. The other thing not to forget is that many people are playing up a line with Stephens out. If you lose a second or third line guy, someone can step up and it's not that big of a deal...lose one of your top 2 guys and it becomes a problem for a building team. London has the 2nd youngest team in the league, Does not seem to be much of a hindrance to them.

London also gets young players that would never play for any other team in the league outside of maybe Windsor. To not acknowledge the fact they have a clear advantage over every other team in the league when it comes to recruiting players is just being ignorant.
Looking quick over their roster I think they have 7 kids currently who either would only come to London or played some draft games to get only London to select them.

Not that its relevant, but how did Stewart not get the check of the game Saturday. I've not seen a harder body check live than that one. My guess is the camera was pointed up ice a little more since the hit came on an outlet pass. Maybe they just didn't get it in the frame? I will agree though that was one of the best hits I've ever seen. Was expecting the ice crew to come out and shovel the Spits player off the ice. Stewart also had a good fight. STEWART NEEDS TO KEEP PLAYING THIS WAY. He doesn't do it enough. When he plays with that nasty edge, he is easily one of the most intimidating guys in the league. If he can consistently play like he is supposed to, cause to be honest his role on this team is to be the designated bad mf, it will keep opposing forwards honest.

It goes without saying that losing Stephens is a blow--I didn't even think that needed to be mentioned, since all of us on this board are more than casual fans. I'm not talking about results. I'm talking about effort, which too many nights this season I have only seen in bits and pieces. Even "a young team with lots of new pieces" can display that.
