No way is Nemo ready for the AHL next year. Exactly. And on that same line of reasoning his isn't ready for the Finish pro league. His offense game needs rounding out and he needs to learn to be more physical. Neither of those things are gonna happen playing against grown men. It would be wise for whoever drafts him to send him back to Saginaw to play junior hockey instead.

I think the Finnish pro team signed him because they knew he was a real prospect that NHL teams want to draft. Then they loan him to us so that he plays in North America, so the NHL teams can see him play and then draft him. Then the Finnish team is hoping that the NHL team will want to sign him, and they will get some money out of the deal and having him signed to their Finnish team gives them a little leverage in terms of how much they can get. I do not think the Finnish team has any intention of bringing him in to play unless everything goes wrong and Niemeläinen doesn't make it in North America.
What does this mean for us? If Niemeläinen signs with the NHL, then the ball is in the court of the NHL team as far as where he plays. If he doesn't sign, then I think the Finnish team will loan him again to play for us in the hopes that another good season will get him signed. The NHL team of course could meddle and get him traded somewhere else if they think it is better for his development, and of course anything else could happen too. But I don't think he will go back to Finland next year. I think it will be either AHL or OHL.
