I'm surprised this has not made a topic yet. What are your thoughts on the prospect of an indoor football team calling the Dow home? Here's my $0.02 Having an indoor football team would be a great addition to the area's attractions. Just another thing to do with the family. It makes the area more attractive to people and companies looking to relocate or start new in this area. Now with that said, I wonder about the following; - Will the cost of a ticket ($8 to $13) be too much for the area to support? (i.e. Spirit, Loons and football) I personally think it would be okay as you would draw non Spirit fans as well as Spirit fans just as the Loons do.
- Sharing the arena. Spirit play their last regular season game in mid march in most cases and the football team starts the end of march. What if (and hopefully so) the Spirit make the playoffs?
- Advertising. All of the ads in the arena have been sold by Spirit staff and I think the team gets most of that money. The football team would not get any of that revenue and there are few places left to sell ads, what will the football team do for ad revenue?
Just some ideas to poke around. I think it would benefit the Spirit as well, more people will get to see the inside of the Dow and realize what a great place it is and may want to come to other events like Spirit games

Was this in the Saginaw News?
I heard a rumor about this a month or so ago and have been waiting to see if anything developed. I agree that this would be a great addition to the area over the summer months. My guess is that they would only have 6-8 home games a season which wouldn't interfere too much with other summer plans/actives. Plus it would put season tickets at an affordable price ($100 per seat?). I would love to have my same hockey seats to watch football at the Dow.

After reading the article a week or so ago, I had no idea that Flint had an arena football team, lol. Do they play at Perani's Arena, where the Generals play?
A friend of mine was joking they should tear down some old buildings and build a new stadium in Bay City, since Saginaw has the Spirit and Midland has the Loons, lol.

With the mass amount of fan support the Spirit received in the playoffs ... one might wonder if they really need another professional or semi professional sports franchise to compete with?
Not to mention with all the concerts and other events going on at the DOW, It would be extremely hard to fit another team in the venue.

I believe the "Flint" team was actually the Pt. Huron team playing a home game or 2 in Flint - I think it was to see if football would work in Flint.
