The Montreal Canadians have chosen not to offer Tom Pyatt a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Montreal attempted to trade him at the draft last weekend, but couldn't find any takers. Hopefully he finds a home quickly.

I would almost bet that Montreal re-signs him on Friday as a Free Agent, They could shave a little off his guarantee down to the league minimum & keep him in his same role. I don't think he's going anywhere. A lot of teams do this as a way of getting rid of the old contract & signing them to a new one at less money.

Tom Pyatt has signed a 1 year, 2-way contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning's AHL team is the Norfolk Admirals.
