Ryan Hayes scores a powerplay goal to tie the game 2-2...no surprise there, the Whalers have been all over us this period it sounds like...

Brad Smith appeared to score for the Spirit but the officials ruled the net was dislodged before the puck went in the net.

Man, it seems like we never get that call on the road. It's frustrating. Baligian said it was very close.

Sounds like Daniels just made a game saving save with 3 seconds left!
2-2 heading to OT. I'll gladly take the point.
Shots are 38-32 Plymouth
Powerplays: Saginaw 0/2, Plymouth 1/5

Plymouth wins the shootout 1-0 and take the game 3-2. Smith stopped all 3 Saginaw shooters (Combs, McDonough, and Zaborsky) while Chris Terry scored the only goal of the shootout for the Whalers. Oh well, at least we got a point out of it.

Just tuned in (I am at work) - noticed no J. McDonough in the lineup. Is he suspended for the hit from behind the other night? He's not the only one from these teams looking at a probable suspension. Leo Jenner broke Nikoforov's (Sarnia) jaw with an elbow on Saturday night. Word from Terry Doyle on loosepucks.com is that it showed pretty clearly on the relay, and he'll be surprised if Penner's not gone for several game. Clearly, with Penner playing, and J McD eligible to play. the OHL is plodding along, as usual.

It was a weird game, not much atmosphere with only about 500 people there. Game could have gone either way. Spirit are definitely playing with more confidence, but are looking a little tired to me. On the first Plymouth goal, Terry undressed Breen. The two teams are now evenly matched, but Plymouth has Terry which gives them a slight edge. Daniels played very well again. The disputed non-goal by Smith at the end of regulation (which the video judged ruled in favor of on ice decision) could have gone either way, but you are not going to get that call on the road.
If you did not make it to the game, you made the correct choice. The roads were terrible on the way home. An hour and 45 minute trip took over 2 and half hours. Pucker factor of 7 on a 10 point scale.

Just one comment about the game last night. Ryan Hayes is an awesome player and will make the Whalers a better team. He is small by OHL standards, but quicker than "H-E double hockey sticks". Hayes played on a line with Terry and Fournier and that is a very potent combination.
