Saginaw gets a much needed 3-2 victory over Ottawa, scoring twice in the final period to rally for the victory. I believe Pachis had his first OHL goal tonight if I'm not mistaken. Good crowd tonight of over 4600.

My observations, the team played hard tonight and earned the win, were still struggling on our PP though. My unsung hero of the game is Brad Smith, the kid worked really hard tonight and had an asst. Nice crowd!

Heard assistant coach Cooke, quit. Don't know details, but can't be good.
Also, a certain member of Spirit management should stop complaining about the goal judge not turning on the light when the puck does not go in (correct call by goal judge) and take that energy into finding some one who can resurface the ice.

Some much-needed relief for the first line tonight, as the goal scorers were Comrie, Pachis (and congrats on that first goal, Dan!) and Jarram with the game winner. Let it never be said that I don't give credit where credit is due--Jarram was right where he needed to be in front of the net, and scored on a great pass from Brad Smith. Ottawa's goalkeeper was especially great through the first two periods, but their team appeared to tire in the third--might have something do do with their third in a row on the road, eh? I am certainly waiting to hear don johnson's take on tonight's total and complete beatdown of an unlucky Ottawa player who fought Jordan Swarz. OWNED!!! That's two fights for JS, and he has dominated in both, although "dominated" might be too mild a word for tonight's effort. Not much time to rest on this one--the Sting are here tomorrow afternoon, and so far this season, that has meant trouble. Everyone that we needed to lose, won tonight, so we really need to keep it going tomorrow.

Nice win by the Spirit tonight. Good crowd as well. I thought the special teams was the only downside. Gave up 2 PP goals again and the PP was very inept. Hopefully they can get that turned around tomorrow and win going away. Good luck to the boys tomorrow.

Of course, reading the first sentence leaves me absolutely burning up with curiosity. But getting to the meat of the message....I didn't think the Zamboni guys could do a worse job on the ice than they did on Thursday against the Soo, but I was wrong. And then they just leave the ice, and it falls to the game officials to delay play by going to get the squeegees and trying to make things right. This is getting truly embarrassing.

I couldn't see it really well, mievl, but Szwarz elbowed one of the Ottawa guys (which he got a penalty for) A third guy comes flying in to "protect" his player, and that poor guy probably still has no idea what hit him. I seriously do not think he had time to land a punch. JS IMMEDIATELY landed at least 10 rapid-fire, hard, full-on punches before the guy was smart enough to go down. We had commented earlier in the evening that we wanted to see JS fight again to see if he was as good as last time. He was at least twice as good, and my guess is that word of this one is going to get around the league quickly. All of us in our row--all season ticket holders who come to all the games--were in shock. Not that he won, but HOW he won. Remember Shanahan in his prime? Didn't fight too often, but everybody knew he could, and if somebody did goad him into it, they were going to get their ass kicked. That would be Szwarz. Of course, we aren't going to WANT him fighting too ofter--way to valuable to be off the ice for 5 minutes routinely!
