Big win last night in Guelph. It won't mean much if the Spirit lose in PA tonight. Erie is in last place in the Western Conference and also last place in the league. These are the games the Spirit must win to have any chance of moving up in the standings. The Spirit also have the opportunity to officially eliminate the Otters from the playoffs with a win tonight. Go Spirit!

I'm a little nervous about this game. We seem to not play as well the game after a victory against a tough team (Guelph still 8-1 I think in their last 9). This game must be treated just as importantly as last night's game. Hopefully we don't have another let down against a very poor team, such as losing to Sudbury last month. Let's go Spirit!!!

I agree 100%! You have to look past the fact that Erie is at the bottom of the heap. You need only look at the fact that Erie has beaten London (twice), Belleville, Guelph, Sarnia, Kitchener and Windsor at home this season. They are not to be taken lightly. This is made more important by the fact that all 5 Western Division teams are playing tonight as well as 4 of the 5 Western Conference teams are playing. Only London has the night off. Guelph has a game much like ours tonight as they travel to Sudbury. Long trip, team at the bottom, but one who is capable of winning. Just ask Kitchener. Sudbury was down 5-1 at one point in last night's contest and Sudbury scored 5 un-answered goals to defeat the Rangers in regulation. From here on out, every team needs to take every game serious. If the don't, the results could be disastrous. Peace.

wow....of course I'm rooting for Saginaw but that goal was so cheap and unfair. I feel bad for the goalie, it was clear that Combs landed on him yet the goal still counted. I'd rather win fairly.

I see according to the on line scoresheet that Jarram and Gazdic dropped the mitts just under 2 minutes in. Anyone have a recap??

Still 1-0 after 2 periods. This is a scary game. The longer Saginaw lets Erie hang around, the greater the chance of blowing the "sure" 2 points.

Skellett gets Erie on the board and spoils Pasquale's shutout. It's now 4-1 Saginaw.

That's the game! Saginaw wins 5-1. A big weekend for the Spirit. Very tough weekend next week as we play Windsor, Plymouth, and Kitchener.
Meanwhile.....Sarnia and Owen Sound are tied 3-3 with 10 minutes left and Guelph leads Sudbury 2-1, also with 10 minutes left in the 3rd. Belleville beat Plymouth tonight 6-3.
