The Spirit announced today they have 2 new radio shows/features... "The Spirit Hockey Show" debuts next Monday, February 18 and airs every Monday from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM until the end of the playoffs on NewsRadio 1250 AM. The show will feature game recaps, previews of the upcoming weekend, team news, and player/coach interviews. Also, "The Spirit Hockey Update" airs Monday through Friday starting next week at 5:26 PM. I guess that's an exact time or something. www.saginawspirit.com/ss/home.nsf/public/EC34268F7DB6DA23852573ED006E6E7E

this is a great concept that wasn't possible until now. With Fic directly on the payroll, we can do this good stuff now. Cameron probably could have done it before but I think it would have been too much on top of what he already did. I'm sure this will bring the Fic comments back to the forefront but these radio shows will be a really good thing to bring more attention to the Spirit.

Fic sucks. haha, just kidding. It is great to see this. The more Spirit coverage, the better.

This was one of Fic's promises when he came on board. He did a weekly radio show ALL YEAR ROUND in Muskegon on Monday nights from one of the downtown bar/restaurants by the arena. Say what you want, but he brings a lot to the table and was a great addition to the organization.
Looking forward to the radio show.
GO SPIRIT!!!

Great news--I was hoping with a full-time guy the Spirit would be doing something like this. Any chance the show will be aired from an area bar/restaurant like it was in Muskegon??

I agree this is great. It would be nice if the daily spirit update, which I assume would be pre-recorded and only a minute or two, could air on other radio stations as well. The more radio stations the more people of all age, race and gender will get spirit fever.
As for Fic comments; I'm adjusting to his broadcasts and dealing with it. I do like his quirky little sayings it's just that mono tone style that is hard to take.
edit: I would like to suggest the Savoy as the location if it's broadcast from a bar.

I'm with Sparky, both on the Savoy and on the Fic sayings. For the dumb guy from Midland (and now Shanghai), where exactly is the Savoy located??

it is on Franklin street just a few blocks from the arena...don't worry, i had no idea either until a few weeks ago when i went before a game for the first time...now i'm addicted to their bean soup and bbq sandwich!!!!! maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=savoy,&near=Saginaw,+MI&fb=1&cid=43432721,-83937909,2854161209667241418&li=lmd&ll=43.43653,-83.93795&spn=0.029791,0.079823&z=14&iwloc=A&om=0 (EDIT: you need to copy/paste the entire address...i'm guessing the comma is throwing off the board coding for links.)
