Would be nice to see some cheers or applause for Asselin. He was an important part of this team for a long time.

Spirit have been awesome on the road the 2nd half of the season. I don't have the #s in front of me, but I know they have won 4 in a row away from the Dow. If I remember correctly (and that's no guarantee at my age ) Fic mentioned during the post game show that Saginaw was 2 games over 0.500 on the road this season and has won 9 of their last 11 away from "The Herbie". Speaking of Fic and the post game show, I have to give him props over Brady in terms of these types of stats that he mentions. Brady did not do much of that when he was here. It's obvious Fic does his homework in this regard and that is the mark of a real pro.

It's obvious Fic does his homework in this regard and that is the mark of a real pro. The big difference here is that Fic is a full time employee of the Spirit, Brady was not. Brady's job was to do a pregame show, call the game and then recap the game. He was also facing a two hour drive home so I'm guessing you got the Reader's Digest recap show. I always enjoyed listening to Brady's post game show because it lasted just long enough for me to get home. With Fic's version I have time to do some grocery shopping on the way home and still have to sit in the driveway for some time before it ends. Peace

i watched the livestream...the allicock penalty was a retaliation...he got tripped skating up the ice (right in front of the official but missed) and then as he was getting up, he chopped the skates of the guy who took him down. Pretty textbook 2nd man getting caught. He did draw a penalty earlier in the game with some hustle so it wasn't all bad for the Kainer.
Although I like when Kain is in the lineup (for obvious reasons) he's been sitting out a lot lately and I disagree with Watson for playing him last night. Aliu and Shine were both scratches which doesn't leave much toughness for London. I think Pachis would have been a better option, he provides a lot more skill and I think he's been really improving over the last couple of weeks with some regular shifts and starts.
I echo what an earlier poster said, we completely dominated this game on the road, they were without their stud, Aliu, but this would be a great first round matchup for us if we can keep winning these close games down the stretch!

Ever notice how when the Spirit beat a higher ranked team, particularly on the road, you hear (on the NOOF) how the better team, did not show up, refs were against them, bad breaks etc,... The Spirit simply do not get much respect across the league. Their road record this year, especially of late is very impressive.

IGive...i would recommend that you, and any new readers to our wonderful forum, stay as far away from the NOOB as you can...there is a major bias towards London and if you think i'm bad sometimes on here, the noob is even worse. They have no sympathy for "newer" posters, many wish they could open up a seperate page for "regular" posters, and NoofNazi loves to ban people (including me a few years ago...i'm back though, hahaha). Stick to this forum, it might get hairy at times but GensFan lets this site be what the noob isn't...an "open forum".

They have no sympathy for "newer" posters, many wish they could open up a separate page for "regular" posters, and NoofNazi loves to ban people (including me a few years ago...i'm back though, hahaha). Stick to this forum, it might get hairy at times but GensFan lets this site be what the noob isn't...an "open forum". You will have to forgive DJ as his is not an unbiased opinion. The NOOF is without question the finest forum available that deals with the entire OHL. The only way anybody can get banned is by not following the rules. You must keep in mind that the NOOF has over 6000 registered members and deals with tens of thousands of posts. You might not like having rules, but in a forum of this size they are a necessary evil. I have been a member of the NOOF since 2003. I have had the opportunity to meet and hangout with NOOFers from every OHL city and I can tell you first hand they are some of the nicest and most knowledgeable hockey fans you will find anywhere. Are there jerks on the NOOF? Of course there are, I think you might find a few here as well. Are there homers on the NOOF? Of course there are. All fans are homers and the ones who tell you they aren't are liars. The bottom line here is DJ broke the rules, got his hand slapped, and he doesn't like it. That's fine, he is entitled to his own opinion. I find it just a bit hypocritical for him to tell others to stay away when in fact he once again a pretty regular poster on the NOOF. IGive, you are right, the Spirit don't get the respect they deserve but I think that is because the are the 8th place team. People don't always look at records. Like the radio guys in London said last night, "Saginaw is the best 8th place team they have ever seen". Let's hope teams and their fans take the Spirit lightly the rest of the season. That's not a bad thing for us. Peace.

I agree with both posts in a way. I don't post on the NOOF often, but it is a nice place to converse with fans all over the OHL. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting anyone on the NOOF, or this board, for that matter, but I'm sure there's plenty of wonderful hockey fans and human beings alike on the NOOF. Like BP said, it's a huge forum and regulation is necessary, and yes, there are a lot of biased London fans on the NOOF, and really there isn't anything wrong with that. Every team has their own biased fans who don't give much respect to other teams. I hope people there continue to overlook the Spirit and we can surprise.
I will agree, however, that the NOOFadmin guy is pretty uptight. He's sent me a few PM's before saying "you need to tone some comments down or your account will be suspended" or something along those lines, even though I don't personally believe I've ever said anything drastic over there. Have I disagreed with anyone over there? Of course. That's why it's called a discussion board, which I feel the Admin sometimes forgets. Just got to deal with things, I guess.

bpfox, absolutely it's a biased opinion and I know there's lots of good people but half the noob is what you say (the best forum for OHL talk) and the other half is used as the London fan forum. Also, I would not call myself a regular poster on there, more a regular lurker...i clicked my profile and i've got 46 posts in the last couple of years...i get that many on here a week (unfortunately for some ) Truthfully (as unbiased as I can be) I think that this forum is more useful as a leaguewide reference than the noof is...we've got knowledgable people like yourself, SSF, Spiritfan8, etc. who post in both places who can elighten the rest of us without having to dredge through the pages and pages of posting...i could probably say more regarding how I think this board is great but i'm late for church...i'll say a prayer for a 3rd in 3 WIN!!!
