Tickets for the 2008 OHL Playoffs go on sale today. Nothing is set in stone obviously but I hear a current scenario is we will likely have a home game on Saturday, March 22 if we play Kitchener, Windsor, or London. If we play one of these teams, it will likely be a 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 format. If we play Sault Ste. Marie, however, we will likely have a 2-2-1-1-1 format like last year, and therefore probably wouldn't have our first home game until the following Tuesday. Don't make plans just yet but those are some possible dates to keep in mind.
For the formatting, I believe if the two teams are less than 250 miles apart, they do the one game here and the next there type of thing. If they are more than 250 miles apart, then they do the 2-2-1-1-1 thing. Correct me if I'm wrong...

I don't think there's any mileage requirement...i think it's just "agreed upon between the two teams." Your mileage thing makes sense and probably factors into the decision.

I believe the 250 mile thing was the old CHL/UHL rule. Makes sense though. Let's hope the boys can win at least 1 playoff round this year. Would be nice to see Saginaw win its first playoff series since 1995.
GO SPIRIT!!!
