Daniels pulls a Hasek flop and loses in overtime... By all means kivpit is entitled to his opinion, but it IS an opinion and it's not necessarily correct. Daniels rec'd the second star and a very big ovation from the Kitchener crowd. All of the K fans around me thought he should have been the first star. These are facts. My opinion--with the same caveats I put on kivpit's--is that Daniels played one of his best games of the season. He was hung out to dry innumerable times today by his team, and frankly deserved a better fate than he got, much like Beskorowany of Owen Sound last night. Three out of 4 points this weekend was great, especially today's. The guys had to go back to Kitchener after last night's game (which of course went right down to the end, so it was go all out on the ice), the weather was awful (the bus was late getting to OS Saturday), and we were playing the Rangers at home when they had Sat. off. Not too many of us in the pool picked Saginaw, let's just put it that way........... You guys would not believe how freaking much snow there is in Kitchener........... And BTW--did anyone but me notice?? We WON the season series from the Rangers! Is there another team in the league able to make that claim??

Actually, we tied the season series. Each team with two wins each team with the extra point. The Spirit got theirs today while Kitchener got theirs the last time in Kitchener when Saginaw won in a shoot out. Each team got 5 points this season vs each other. Peace.
Also, Ottawa beat the Rangers both times they played each other this season.

Kivpit- I don't think Daniels should even be given the quote of losing the game in overtime.. He is the only reason we were in this game..did you happen to see the shots on goal or the way our defense played at times? Daniels deserved the win today, he made some outstanding saves and he was the ONLY reason we got a point outta Kitch today. Did you miss the fact he got a star? #2 to be exact, so maybe, just maybe he didn't play bad. So next time before you blame loses on him, maybe you should take a look at how many games this season he has won for us, guarantee the number of wins outweighs the number of games you think hes lost for us.. FWIW, I agree that Ryan played an exceptional game today. He deserved his star. Similar in many ways to last night, where the Attack goalie (whose name is about 153 letters long, so I don't remember it, couldn't pronounce it, and am too lazy right now to look it up) kept his team in the game and was awarded 1st star. Kitchener has an awesome team and our guys played very well, given the long ride in the middle of the night and the Rangers being well rested. It seemed to me that the Spirit started to tire late in the 2nd period, but they kept plugging away. Getting a 5 on 3 in the last 2.5 minutes of regulation helped. Did Fic or Rosie say what happened when the Rangers got that bench minor? DeBoer's face was about the color of the banner across the top of this replay. All they announced was a "bench minor".

For the record--today's story in the Booth papers, twice, in two separate paragraphs, referred to Guelph as "the Attack".............. Perhaps this is the source of their confusion: "The Guelph Platers joined the OHL in 1982-83 as an expansion team, owned by the Holody family. The name "Platers" came from the fact that the Holodys had made their money with an electroplating factory. The team didn't survive in Guelph, though, and in 1989-90 the Owen Sound Platers were born. In 2000 the Holodys sold their stake in the team to local investors, and the new ownership renamed the team the Attack." Taken from the OHL Arena Guide web site. Peace

You can't think it is that complex, bp--this guy never heard of the Guelph Platers, or knew they moved to Owen Sound. He was remembering that the Spirit played the Attack in the last story he wrote, and somehow the word "Attack" was typed into his computer instead of the word "Storm", and it never got edited.
